Either this week or next...PJ told me it should before the end of this month. Every time I see the UPS truck in my neighborhood I keep saying," you got my bass, you got my bass"? Lol This time has seemed like a very long time! Argh! Not having a 5r is driving me nuts too! :scowl:

I bought another Cirrus, it was going to be delivered day before yesterday and UPS usually gets here about 5;30 PM, but I caught him in the grocery store parking lot and picked it up about 5 hours early.

So, I debuted the ReBop 5 at band practice last night. The band loves it, even the drummer (who doesn't comment on anything tone wise) said it was amazing

I also played it through an EBS head and amp (not sure which model) and it acutally sounded ok to my ears. Now I have to get the duct tape out and tape my knobs in place haha.

Can't wait to play it through my Ampeg. Also can't wait for my new bass!

Congrats! My bandmates also noted the superior tone of Spector basses when I began playing them exclusivly.
As for the EBS amp, my main rig used to be an EBS HD-350 (the model preferred by Marcus Miller when he endorsed EBS) through 2 EBS 4x10 cabs, and it sounded great.
I ended up selling it because of reliability issues, and switched to Phil Jones amplification.
I found myself missing some of the ultra clean & sparkly EBS tones, so I purchased an EBS MicroBass II from the TB classifieds, and between that pedal, my SansAmp VT and my PJB rig, I now have a very wide palette of sonic textures to choose from in a single rig.

That's interesting, PayPal was sued for that very thing in a class action suit a few years ago and lost! They paid through the nose from that practice.
Also; they assured me only last month when I re-linked my account that they can no longer do that.
So if that happened to you, it most likely not legal.

No. PayPal only withdraws or adds funds with your permission.

So they are in violation of their own rules and contract agreement and probably the law. I would contact someone.

I think the key there is "permission". I'm guessing at some point they make you agree to terms that give them permission.

My personal approach is to only keep a small checking account I have for "fun" money linked to Paypal, and the minute any significant money hits it I withdraw it. They can't hold what isn't there.

Each and every transaction is unique and requires your authorization. the only "automated" transaction I have encountered is my eBay fees to be withdrawn from my PayPal account, I had to specifically authorize this (I set this up). This has been my experience using this service for the last 12 years and over 1000 unique transactions.
But I know PayPal did not always have this policy and different users have different requirements depending on length of service and other conditions, but not in this example.
I'm not disputing anyone's experience, but this withdrawal should not have happened based on their conditions.

My Rebop 5 is my favorite bass, honestly I don't think i need to search any furthur, its the tone in my head. Even better is I got a killer deal on it from Gabe earlier in the year, can't thank him enough!

That sounds more like a buyer protection thing. The way that reads to me in regards to sellers is if you shipped the item before the payment is flagged as unauthorized, you might still be protected. My understanding is in Chris' case it's not that it was an unauthorized payment, but rather the buyer is claiming damage or non-receipt since he doesn't have the bass now.

If Paypal has made the decision that the seller is not covered by the Paypal Seller Protection guidelines, I can absolutely see them automatically debiting whatever account to which the funds were withdrawn. In fact I would expect it. Not saying I like the way they handle things or that it's right.

Have you guys ever had money refunded and Pay Pal hold your money? I refunded a guy the other day due to no honoring my terms and he sent me a message stating that Pay Pal had a freeze on 300 and some odd dollars. I have never had that issue before. The total refund was 875.

Well if the transaction shows as fully refunded in your account, I'm not sure what he expects you to do. I have not seen that happen on the few refunds I've received, and I have not had that complaint from buyers I refunded, although I've never had to refund more than $400.

Did you have any funds in your account when you refunded? I know last time I refunded a guy they had to wait for the funds to clear from my bank account. If you had something like ~$500 in your account when you refunded, I could see that being available immediately and the rest waiting for the deposit to hit your account.

My guess is something else is up with the guy's account and they were waiting for some money to hit it so they could hold it.

Yeah, that what I was thinking and when I talked to the offshore pay pal cs she said the same pretty much. Guess he just wants to blame me, or make me feel bad because I refunded him money. I told him he could send me the money certified mail, or meet him half way (about 3hrs apart), or any other fee free payment. He asked for my Pay Pal account and paid. When I had the 35.00 fee, I refunded him the cash and told him to pay another way. I guess they took his cash for something else so it's my fault. lol Oh well

On another note, got the Plum Wimbish and the neck is crazy nice. I love the 1.5 nut and will be making sure that all my basses have that profile from now on. TP is a little different than I used to but, I will give it some time and still have to do a string change to a man's gauge

Is it just me or are the pickups on Rebops a little closer together in comparison with the neck through models? I can't tell if that's the case or if the visible neck heel is just playing tricks on my eyes.

I only ask because I'm debating between different pickups to replace the HZ's, and if they are closer together what kind of effect might that have (if any) on say, a P/J combo?

I have a ReBop 4 with EMG 35P/35J's, fit just fine and sound AWESOME!!! I formerly had a ReBop 5 with the stock HZ's...I like the 35's much better tonal wise! Do it! You'll love the difference!

Went in and paid for a big chunk of the Fodera this afternoon. It hurt, but I have always wanted a Fodera, Spector USA and a MTD USA. After almost a decade of buying and selling, I think I have all the tones in my head covered.

Next stop... Get my head examined.

I've never had to wait for a new bass, so I can only guess how much that has to suck hearing that UPS truck not stop.

But, man, how sweet is that going to be?!?!?!

Yeah it is tough...You try to put it out of your mind by not thinking about, but, as soon as you see someone's gorgeous new bass get posted, that S.A.S. sets in again! You know the feeling you get when waiting for that new to you Spector you just bought and you're waiting the 3-5 days for it to be delivered? Well, imagine that for 7+ months!!!
But yeah, when it arrives its sooooo worth it! This'll be my third new from Woodstock this year...I'm exhausted!

Yeah, I was just pulling out of the drive leaving for work this evening when the Fedex truck passed me with the Wimbish. Got to wait 2 1/2 more hours to check it out.

That's crazy! Doing the horns by hand must be one of the big reasons for price diff in bolt on and neck thru USA basses. The bolt ons definitely need less shaping.

Well, I pulled the trigger on a white "Sting" type Euro IV from Bass Central. It is supposed to be here in less than a month.

I also put down a deposit for a Fodera Monarch Standard IV. I had a beautiful Monarch IV I got used from Jason who is partner there. Honestly I have never had a bass I dont like but that is the only one I regretted totally selling!

Anyway, I have my NS-Blue (as Patrick named it lol) and love that sound. I think I will sell my pristine red Euro IV that is about a year old. It is a BEAST and I really mean that. The NS-4 for a really clean sound if I dial it that way, almost piano-like if I want, but the Euro with the Tonepump for just nashty lol!!!

I am going to sell my matching red Euro V. I spoke with Lima about it awhile before I got the V string and had some reservations. Anyway, I am a four string guy through and through. It probably has not been played over four hours, absolute max. I know, I know I didnt give it a chance... Lol but I have such Great stuff that simply feels better in my hands. I am average size and a five string is just a little too big for me to enjoy.

Anyway, both are in perfect shape. The IV has blue/gold knobs I bought and put on. Spector should make and option for them lol, as they really add to the bass. But I still have the black plastics around somewhere I am sure.

Posting this here first as I am not ready to sell quite yet. But if you want to get in touch I am happy to do so.

I don't get much time on here anymore but I'm still totally digging my white NS2A. My Legend 5 not so much. I don't know if it's the pick-up ot the MM114 pre but It just doesn't sound as good as the 18V TP in my NS2A.........

I know what you're saying here...when I had a NS-2A and NS-95 SSD, my Legend 4 saw less playing time also. But when I did pull it out to play, it was a delight still! And it still had the original TPjr in it.

I've been contemplating going with all Aguilar rig since my Coda will have Aguilar pre & pickups. And that stacked 12's and ToneHammer 500 or 750 is what I've been thinking...

C# it is and .158 .118 .090 .067 .049 is going on the Rebop when I complete the refinish. I love the CK's, 8 months and going strong on these basses.
