How cool is it that we get the privilege of sound clips and video of the new MMBop. Thanks Jaymi and Limaguy. I've been waiting for this one.

So, what will this actually cost new?

It does sound awfully bright in the video and that treble buzz drives me nuts with my Rebop. However, the sound clips sound not as bright, quite nice actually.

The finish is killer looking and I'm a big fan of maple fret boards. SAS has been stoked.

The prices they posted were list but Todd Cooke has one of the prototypes for sale at Guitar House of Tulsa for $1,699 which is a 5 string model. It says it is sold but I believe he said it was sent back to him and is back in stock.

It really does look great in person.

Its bright like a ReBop usually is. The single coil with the treble turned up all the way ofcourse give the hiss but thats the nature of the HZs and I doubt most people would play in the single mode.

Overall I liked it better then a standard ReBop.

Speaking of of someone who currently owns a Rebop.
Here is Peledog checking out the RebopMM at BPL just a few mins ago. I am sure he will have some nice comments to add later. :bassist:

It does sound totally awesome, but at that price it definitely won't be replacing my frankenbass built stingray-style bass, which sounds ALMOST as awesome as that Rebop-MM, except I only spent a couple hundred on my build vs. a couple thousand for the Rebop... :hmm:

Bass Central has a natural spalted finish NS-5 that I played last week (thanks Tat2dhrt for the field trip). I'm not a "coffee table bass" fan, but it was quite nice.
I think I need (want) a Bahama blue NS-4 with BEM fretboard...the green abalone inlays in the USA necks are gorgeous!

You're welcome Tony! It was fun to do...and the bass can be versatile...I would rock it...

Anyone know of a nice easy website that I can upload clips to that I can share here?

Finally got my recording setup in decent shape, so I recorded a bunch of Spector demos, since I have done some pickup swaps and such.

Also put a set of GHS Precision Flats I had lying around on my NS20004 so I did a comparison of rounds to flats with that bass as well.

I'd like to post some of this in the coming week since the clips will finally answer questions people have been asking me :D

Icebox, you were right man, Precision flats on a Spector sounds great! The NS20004 is the smoother sounding of my 3 Spectors so it got the flats, and they really just sound like someone smoothed out my DR rounds, missing some high mids so the bridge pickup soloed isn't as awesome, but overall sounds nice and smooth and really nice feel to playing them.
