To my ears, and their not exactly the best, the ReBop MM on LimaGuy's just sounded fuller and more articulate, while the actual MusicMan sounded flat and dull. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for all the post and music. Really nice to sit here and listen to all the tracks and different sounds.

man o man!!! what a night, I pulled out old Jade tonight with some almost new Dunlop steels and HOLY CRAP!!! the growl was amazing, I was running everything almost wide open.. I love this bass more and more every time I play it.

I was worth missing BPL today to play the album release party for another local band here in AZ.

On a side note, I am going to be experimenting with some pedals and amps in November/December as we take some time off for our album promotion. Right now it looks like I'm going to go with the GK mb800, I have a Hartke bass attack pedal coming, I'm going to look for a compressor (suggestions welcome), flanger (I've heard the Boss one works well) and maybe an octave pedal... I'm not too sure yet.

Original Bass Whammy, bass cry baby, all sorts of stuff. Ran this through a GK 700 RB II w/ a 410 and 115 cab set up. It was ridiculous. The entire board probably weighed 40 lbs. :rollno:

As far as compressor goes, do you want rack, on all the time, or a pedal? The most simple way is to get a dbx rack compressor and leave it on a low ratio so you have it all the time protecting your speakers. However if you want to go with a pedal I suggest the older model aphex punch factory. It's orange and works well and is an optical soft knee compressor

If you want colored compression go with the markbass compressore. Its pretty darn cool and is tube driven.

The older Boss BF-2 works well with bass and they did make a bass flanger also.

I have a first GEN EBS octaver...I like it. I also have the boss oc-2.....it works also.

Also I have been very curious about the GK mb800, but I am not a GK guy.......I tried........let me know how you like the mb800

Try one. it adds tube goodness that I'm pretty sure is right up your alley man!

And I am basing that on the thought that I have a good idea of the tones and sounds you like!

+1 on the MXR, I had one and so far it's the best. I sold it though, I keep buying and selling them thinking that I will actually have a use for one.

BR2 Auto Junk, used to have one of those too.

Bass Whammy, just sold mine last week for 650, they have some stuff out now that will get you the fifth so figured I had better sell it before everyone figures that out.

I still have the Boss Flanger BF-3, works great still use it. I'm not the biggest digital fan, but this one adds a nice touch.

I have thought about getting a compressor, but never had the patience to sit down and really understand why I would need one and what they do.

Analogman Chorus and MXR Carbon Copy are my main pedals.

Looking a replacing the GT2 with a B3K, looks like a practical dist pedal. Just sold the Russian Green Muff.

great job guys. i absolutely love the sound of that bass. i think that's whats going to be my next purchase. that thing is a monster!!!

I have some great, knowledgeable folks to consult. Sam, Jaymi, PJ, but I want to ask you guys as well because quite a few of you have basses with EMG TWs. My question is this. If the TW is a dual coil and a, hum free, single coil in one cover, is it possible to treat it as 2 separate entities? Master volume, pan/balance between the 2 pickups that are in there and, of course, bass and treble. Doable? I was in the middle of this conversation with Jaymi as I was driving in the mountains and we got cut off before he could explain.:)
