"Just for a moment
It did not matter
Where the sea ended
And the sky began"

This is a dream bass if there ever was one, this Caeruleus Somnium of mine.

Wow. You sir, have some awesome basses. That finish is mesmerizing. Congrats!

Don't feel bad.....I gotta get a yard pass from the wife......that might.be difficult! lol Or costly in some way or sort.......

I tell my wife "I'm thinking about buying a motorcycle....or a new bass, I can't decide." Then I get a bass and she's ok with it.

lol. yeah. i always seem to get stuff before her and i feel bad about it. and she cant seem to get the concept of a GOOD bass costing over $1000. plus we have 5 kids to take care of, so i feel a little guilty about that.

My wife has forbid the motorcycle option..........even though I had many bikes before her! My rule with her is one in one out......

Yeah we have 4 kids and I work two full time jobs so I get it too man........i beat myself up more so. I often feel bad...then i got in my walk in and spare room and see the piles of crafting supplies she has, and I feel better about buying that next bass............

My issue will be a 3-4 day trip away from home without her and the kids.....i'll get the.......why do you get to run away and have fun with out us and have a bunch of fun while we are stuck at home..... speech. LOL

So thats how it works..
Come to think of it, I was at the Ducati dealer just days before I bought my NS-4....

ouch.

i got debt in that department. i now get the "you got to go" speech now. its lose lose in the long run lol

juggling life sucks :help:

I get that speech just going to band practice:bassist:

Yikes. I'm going to give my wife a big ole hug and a kiss when I get home. She's never ever given me any grief over equipment. As far as going out and having fun, she goes out with her buddies and has fun. Good lord I'd never "forbid" anything she wants to do. I'm not her father and she's not my mother. And the motorcycle thing: Even after my first wreck that landed me in a 3 day coma she let me decide whether or not to keep riding. So I did. After the second wreck 3 years and 65,000 miles later which separated my shoulder busted a rib and my left wrist that needed surgery she STILL let me make the decision. So I decided to stay in the saddle. I changed my mind though when I saw the look on my kids faces when I was suiting up for the next ride. They looked at me like they were never going to see me again. I just couldn't do that to them. So I sold the mighty GS and haven't ridden since.

Man I think my next SPECTOR is going to be blue. This and that Coda are really talking to me.

+1. I'd love to have a bike but realistically, at least around here, it's just not safe. A helmet is just no match for some nitwit in an SUV fumbling around with his iphone. It bums me out but it's the truth. :scowl:

New & refreshing, yet strangely familiar....

Congrats Patrick - it turned out just as you described it to me. I hope its everything you hoped for, and may you enjoy it for many years to come.

Nice choice of options, quite unique. The JJ pickups and 1.5 nut is very jazz bass inspired. I'd be interested to hear you thoughts on the sound of the JJ setup.

The color scheme is very "arctic".

So yesterday a guy in sunny California gets an "arctic" bass and a guy in icebox land gets a "Bahama" bass.

You HAVE spent a truckload of cash in the last three months Mike! Lol. Your lady is probably terrified for you to be around musicians and gear.....at this point! Lol

She has her money and I have mine so money and gear is never an issue. Was that 5 Spectors and a Monique pre in 4 months?? :bassist::bassist: Now when it comes to the bands and projects she get's a little fussy. I tend to sometimes show more enthusiasm and passion towards the music than balancing it with my family. I can see where she comes from, but I would be miserable without my music. Yes, I ride a motorcycle too since I was old enough to ride.

The Chrome and that blue is awesome together and Mike's bass has got me SAS'n for a Coda.

Mike

Ya know I was just jabbing at ya........talked to Danny the other day......you should grab him to come down! BTW.......I had bikes until I got married........and OH YEAH..........I have had the "I wished you talked about me with the passion you talk about your _______(insert basses, band, music, gear)"

PS-NICE Scooter!!!!!!!!!

I tell my wife "I'm thinking about buying a motorcycle....or a new bass, I can't decide." Then I get a bass and she's ok with it.

Realistically, I'm never gonna get a motorcycle. When I was 16 I saw a guy get killed on a motorcycle in a horrific manner. If that guy drove a car that day, it would have been just a fender bender and I wouldn't cringe when I see a guy riding a cycle (especially in traffic). I'm really a wus about that.

Plus the outfit with the chaps, leather straps and stuff remind me of the Village People. I don't like the village people but I don't want run over a guys face either.
