SPECTOR® Club - Part 50

Had a little time this morning for a quick recording. Using my newly purchased SSD4 platinum drum sounds. I used the Metallica "Black Kit" preset then tweaked it in Cubase a bit. Hope you guys like it! More to come :)

Used my Spector Ns-2a with Haz on this one in drop A

Sounds great man!! I need to take the time to figure out how to do drum tracks on Studio One. What are you using for the drums?

Realistically, I'm never gonna get a motorcycle. When I was 16 I saw a guy get killed on a motorcycle in a horrific manner. If that guy drove a car that day, it would have been just a fender bender and I wouldn't cringe when I see a guy riding a cycle (especially in traffic). I'm really a wus about that.

Plus the outfit with the chaps, leather straps and stuff remind me of the Village People. I don't like the village people but I don't want run over a guys face either.
People die in cars everyday but I did have a bunch of money in gear.
Coming home from my 35 mile commute in the snow. God I miss riding. The worse the weather the better.

Mike

Ya know I was just jabbing at ya........talked to Danny the other day......you should grab him to come down! BTW.......I had bikes until I got married........and OH YEAH..........I have had the "I wished you talked about me with the passion you talk about your _______(insert basses, band, music, gear)"

PS-NICE Scooter!!!!!!!!!

I will give Danny a call today and see if he's up for the ride.

Hey,

Sounds great as always. Question for ya - are these kits pre-EQ'd or do they have presets? I'm used to the Toontrack Superior kits which are all dry samples that need the usual EQ-ing, reverb, etc. There are some presets though. With Toontrack it's either that or do the EZDrummer stuff which is not tweakable inside the plugin.

I'd be interested in getting the SSD 4 stuff if I knew I could "hit the ground running" with it.

Got the new master back on our album - much better. Guess we just need to give a little direction. :)

The cool thing is listening to it against many bigger name prog metal record, it sounds as good if not better. Of course it was done by the guy who mixes or masters bands like Opeth, Symphony X, Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Soilwork and more, so I was expecting something good.

Should have artwork and clips to share pretty soon. Full release should be sometime in January.

Man that Coda 5DLX looks awesome with the maple and crown inlays. I would love that bass in the ultraviolet finish. :D

Congrats ice!

That is damn sexy! :bassist:

Dude... I'm speechless.

That color & the maple board on that bass works on so many levels. Congrats, and enjoy!

WOW look at that CODA.. what does she sound like hmmmmmm

Your Coda looks Amazing IceBoxBass!!! Congrats :bassist:

Ice, Congrats on the new Coda 5 Deluxe :hyper:
^^^^^^^^Thank you everyone! I can't quit starring at "Big Blue"! I'm heading to Samash or GC today to plug her in! Since we're out of town and no bass rig...can't wait to hear what she sounds like!
Forte 4, Haz pre. Wow, just wow.
Congratulations! What an awesome Forte 4! :bassist:

Hey again everybody! Im looking for screws for the eletronics cover on the back of my Euro 4. Any leads? My hardware store didnt have ones small enough. And while we're on the subject, I need screws for an Ibanez of mine. Any one stop shops? Thanks!

That is a very pretty finish.........
Thanks Jamie! I'd love to have one for about every finish color. I just can't believe no matter how many basses & guitars that Stewart and his master craftsmen put out, they just keep getting more and more amazing!!! Ordering one and then when it arrives has a more feverish anxiety pitch than a young child on Christmas morning! Lol :D

Congrats Ice! Simply stunning. And I thought I had Coda GaS before... I was listening to some Meshell Ndegeocello earlier and was floored by that jazz bass sound- marrying that with Spector's craftsmanship can only yield an amazing instrument! Enjoy it in good health! :bassist:
Hmm...I'm going to have to listen to some. Thanks cj!

So...Did you? Don't leave us hangin'!

Yes! Please tell! :D

Congrats Mike! Truly another playable piece of art from Spector!!
Nice!! Congrats!
Thanks Chris! :)
Holy Moly, that is EPIC!!!!
Thanks Nola! :)
Wow - congrats on a beautiful bass! That Coda looks like an aerial shot of the Caribbean Ocean (ok maybe the Bahamas)! I can't wait to hear a review on it or maybe some sound clips. What's the PU and Preamp combo on this?
Thanks GBass! That's the mission of today! It has the Aguilar OBP2 Pre and Aguilar JJ pups.
Whats the answer?....haha
+1!
Long hair was king!!! :bassist::bassist::bassist:
+1! And I missed it by being in the Air Force during the time. :rollno:
AWESOME BASS Mike!!! :bassist::bassist::bassist:

Thanks Jeff! :)

Wow!!! Well done Mike. Congratulations :bassist:
Thanks Mr. Bassie! :)
Ho is definitely going. I had some frequent flyer miles and a credit that needed to be used. Let's go support our brother! To me it's very exciting to watch a talented young band putting in the work. And that work starting to pay off. These guys ARE that good, I could not agree more.
I'd love to make that trip too! I'd like to car pool and help share the cost if anyone has the room that's driving. Of course I'd drive south to meet, Indiana/Illinois?
Jeebus that's beautiful.
Thanks Rick! :)
Mike that Coda is beautiful
Thanks Donny! :)

Look forward to hearing it!! Glad the mix worked out and you get the adapters in yet? Been wondering if the worked since I didn't get a chance to try them out before I sent them out.
Looks like I might pick up that SSD 4 package seems to be pretty laid out.

"Just for a moment
It did not matter
Where the sea ended
And the sky began"

This is a dream bass if there ever was one, this Caeruleus Somnium of mine.

It arrived quietly and unexpectedly this evening.

The Blue Dream
NS-2 #798
Cobalt Blue/Black Burst
AAAAA Tube Quilt
Doug Wimbish Neck
Dual EMG J Pickups
USA Spector 9v Circuit
Chrome Spector Hardware

Congrats Patrick! Breathtaking. I REALLY REALLY dig that color!

So, I had an Aguilar OBP-3 put in my Euro 4LX this week. I like it quite a bit more than the 2 band tone pump that was in there. The ability to cut and boost the 3 bands, as well as providing a somewhat warmer, and definitely more transparent tone, is awesome.

It still sounds like a Spector to me but the harshness and zing of the tonepump is gone. A worthwhile mod for those wanting a change.

Thanks man.

Have not gotten them in yet - ugh. Getting the house ready for an appraisal has taken up a lot of our time. Holiday crap intervening as well. Really hoping to do it this weekend since I am stuck home due to pager duty for work anyway.

Dude, that has got to be one of the most beautiful basses I've seen. No BS that thing is sexy!
