this might be true.. however i did hear from some engineers that they process the tracks A LOT :hiding:

my last album was the same way so im not complaining lol but it may not be the best representation of Spector tone.. maybe like an exaggeration ;)

Man, I was starting to consider selling mine but after watching your video, I might just keep it :) Mine has the OBP-1 in it as well and I was really surprised when I got it how much I liked that pre in the bass.

Like you though, the neck is a bit too slim from my tastes so that was the main reason I was thinking about selling mine as well. Plus, I have something new coming in and I need to sell a few things to cushion that blow, LOL. My JH5 is going to have to go first though.

Yeah, Mindcrime is pretty much required listening for anyone even if you aren't a fan of metal. That CD holds up to this day and pretty much every song is just amazing. I still get chills when listening to Suite Sister Mary.

Here is our very own Carlton playing a NS-2J prototype 1997. When I first say this, it was actually one of the first times I knew I was listening to a Spector and I knew I had to get me some Spector tone.

It was the only song with Drop D tuning for us which was cool, we do play Pink Floyd and Rush and they are on the radio every day so people will rock to them but the club owners don't like the Rush very much so I point out the crowd reaction and tell them that it gives everyone a chance to buy a drink!

Rush can be tricky. Hardcore Rush vans always seem to ask for the early stuff (pre-Permanent Waves). But the average radio listener is probably most familiar with "Spirit of Radio" or "Tom Sawyer". Maybe "Limelight"?

Personally I'd love to cover "Analog Kid" or "Digital Man" but no one would know what we are playing. :0

Funny thing I used to do all the drop D QR stuff on my Stingray 5. It definitely took a little more concentration subbing the 3rd fret B for the open D but it actually sounded fine with the OD on. This is back when I didn't have too many basses, so I didn't want to tune it weird like DEADG just for that band. The SR5 was my main bass.

Now if I had been playing Spector back then, I would definitely gotten a 4-string with a droptuner. I'm ready now!

I don't want to turn this into a rush geek-a-thon, but they played analog kid on the clockwork Angels tour when I saw them in Charlotte he even said "we never play this". it was awesome.

they're just lucky I didn't pick by-tor and the snowdog.
