My NS2A has been really a great bass. Lately I have used it for hard rock (AIC, Staind), blues/classic rock (SRV, Clapton, ZZ, etc) and worship (Tomlin, Lincoln Brewster, Hillsong) and it has excelled at everyone. Between the tone knobs, right hand placement, finger or pick it just rules. My playing, not so much, but my tone is great. Thak to all you Spector guys for putting me on the path last year.:bassist::bassist:
That's what I love about Spector Basses...they're all pretty much versatile to most genre'. :bassist:

Cool, thanks Ice! Ive been after the Doug tone for awhile, but in a 5string format. Ill figure it out soon, and Im LOVIN my bass's tone, but more of that "PONG" tone that I love on the Stain record.
The USA 18vt is SICKLY clean and punchy, but not having a mid knob to crank up and no graphic eq on my amp (SVT7PRO) has me a little hungry for the "correct punch" in my mid department..I guess Ive been getting it a bit from using my bridge DC on 100% and my neck PU (DC) at 75%
Which is weird,It kinda messes with my brain to not be in the middle of my balance knob,I am a metal bass player,LOL! :D

If its mid control that you want then try a different pre like the Aguilar OBP 3 or EMG BQC. Both have a mids control pot. Good luck! :bassist:

I have been told by PJ that it is there for possible future use.
Future use? Well I'm sure a good electronics guy might have an idea on how that could be customized and put into "current" use for individuals wanting to MOD their bass?
Youre probably right Jamie. They are actually reviving one of my 9v's at the moment and I will ask and report back next time I talk with them.

I'd really be curious to know......thanks Mike!

I prefer the OBP-3, but both work well.......there is just a little bit of difference finacially and I find the OBP-3 to have a little more organic color to it..........;)

Copycat! ;) :D :smug:

All hail the Spalt!!
I have to say this though and Sam will agree. The Spalt / Walnut back / Pao Ferro wood combination is heavenly. There's something about that which makes the bass have a certain Mojo to it!

Amen to that! These spalts are out-freakin'-standing! :bassist:

Now I'm gassing for a Spalted JJ:crying:

On another note, after talking to HAZ this morning. The mid control was added as a option, but nothing is set yet on how Spector wants to do it so it is not available as of yet and he said that 5 to 6 months down the road this could possibly be available:hyper::hyper:

Also, some news that everyone could be excited about. In about 3 to 4 weeks the backordered parts for the 9v's will have arrived and Spector will have as many units as they want.:hyper::hyper:

That's great news! Thanks for the update Mike!!!!!!! :bassist:

Thats what they say.
What the heckers is a Q5? Ive never heard of those...is 350 a good price?

I picked up a Q5 off ebay about 45 days ago. $395 and am plenty happy with my "introduction to Spectors". Made the decision after getting an immediate response from PJ regarding the model. Q4s of course are less. These are now Legends.

There's a great story in the Spector site regarding the Korean builders.

That is excellent news. I must, however, resist the urge be like one of those cat ladies on Hoarders. You can take my car, my house, all my stuff but I will fight you to the death for my stash of 9v Spector pre's. :D:ninja:

Don't tell me these things!! I may just try to force one into a ReBop body. :S Also, I don't have the cash to do that. lol!

You have a stash of 9V circuits? A stash?!!! Where do you live again? :ninja: donning my ninja suit now, you'll never know I was there.

Sigh, if only. Call me Eric, the dasher of hopes and dreams. :hmm:

I was speaking in the hypothetical future where we're all flying around with jetpacks and there are more 9v pre's than you can shake a stick at. I can only aspire to be on Hoarders, just like the rest of you, when/if they ever come back into production. :bawl:
