This is gonna sound stupid (but if you don't ask, you'll never learn) What's with the different headstock shapes? Both my Euro and ReBop have the same slimmer shape, is it the US models that have the fatter one?

It's a four string / five string thing from my observation. Except for the Korean basses which stick with the larger headstocks.
NBD , Well here she is #36 . I put some daddario nickels on her and didnt even have to tweek it clean sound and intonated dead nuts which surprised me because I used a different gauge then what was on there. I do have to say I LOVE IT! plays awesome sounds incredible and something I noticed with a USA Spector even the screws to the electronics plate were stouter ...lol
Well since shes sounding good and I went through some songs for this weekend I think she'll be on stage tonight as my main player.
Note: First song I tested her out on was Slayer South Of Heaven always a good tune to break them in with.

How can you have a collection without a Brooklyn?Although, who better to sell yours too.
How hard are those basses to find these days and what are they selling for?
I'm a little surprised Lee! I thought you were under the Brooklyn spell!
Then again, that amber BEM NS-2 is like a crown jewel in that collection. I'm sure that's a distraction from the others.

Of course. I'm just messin' with ya. I just would like to have a Brooklyn myself one day is all. And yeah, I wouldn't have a Spector if I wasn't going to play it.
And those basses you do have are to die for.
Lee makes a good point - these basses are meant to be played. I have to be careful because I have always been a collector of things since I was kid - toys, CD's, movies, you name it.
It's very difficult to see all these beautiful Spectors and not want them all. When I look at the finishes available on the Spector page for both the Euros and US models, there aren't many I wouldn't want.
I bought the Kramer because I thought I needed a Kramer in my collection, and I wanted to try one personally even though I knew as a 4-string it likely wouldn't fit my needs very well. I'm glad I was able to try and get it in someone's hands who will really enjoy it though. And I learned my lesson (I think) about buying too many basses.
So when the UV 5XL and my 6XL land, I will move several of my Euros. Not because I don't love them, but because they deserve to be played. It'll be tough to do, but if I am investing in these US models, dammit I better play them rather than letting them sit in my closet!

Absolutely! IMHO You can be a collector and a player. I don't see myself being able to own so many basses I wouldn't' be able to give each one a chance to be strapped on, plugging in and sing.
Of course, that's just me.
jnumme, Congrats on the Forte. Something about Fortes and white Spectors that are just stand out classy! And you have em' both. Nice!
I think we all need to do one and post them here. It would actually be interesting and fun to hear everyone's different tone and style on this modern classic. After everyone in the club has done one, the Spector Godfather himself will choose the winner.

Agreed. Over the years, I've tried to move away from my innate hoarder instinct and just acquire stuff that I will actually use. (And if I don't, I try to move it before it starts to collect dust.) That said, should powerball come through, I shall commence hovering up Spectors for me (and my club brethren) as soon as the check clears.

No doubt, the first thing I do when I win the lottery is contact all of the cool Spector distributors out there and place an order for a custom build with each of them. Spread the wealth and begin hoarding. LOL
