Correct.
34" scale is known as "Long Scale"
35" scale is known as "Extra-Long Scale".
The XL in NS-5XL and NS-6XL denotes the Extra-Long Scale length.
The NS-5 without the XL would be the 34" scale model.

I was going by the inlays for scale, I had the same bass in black ( I miss her) back in 99/00. The guy at thoroughbred music was giving me fits about waiting for the 35" with inlays or getting a really good deal on the last black one, 34" with dots. I went with the dot bass , and then bought a Rex 35" 5 with the savings
I can honestly say though the difference in tension was just barely noticeable, however the difference is scale was defiantly noticeable. Honestly I preferred the 34. Having said that, the tension on the 34 was better than most 35's on the market.
Lol Fret buzz from digging in on a Spector with SS strings is a thing of beauty my friend. Nothing else does what a Spector does like that. Kinda like sex with your ear hole through your fingers lol. For me that's THE TONE! Lol
I believe Father Phat said that trim pot pumps were good to go at 18v. Some of the early non trim pot pumps could not, later runs of the non trim pump could. I don't remember the date. I wouldn't try with a non trim just to be safe. So your good.
Before I start a WTB ad, I just figured I'd check here and see if anyone has a Tone Pump w/trim that they want to sell.

I just got a robop5 and i'm planning on installing a 40px in the neck and a dule mode twx in the bridge position so I can have a standard p/j or switch to dule coil in the bridge, I can't wait to try it out, i'm already loving the sound of this bass even with the passive hz in it, I never liked the sound I got using just the j pickup at the bridge but the hz humbucker at the bridge provides a pretty usable sound with some bass boost.
also I've noticed that my spectors are the only active preamp basses I have ever owned that sound good with the bass and treble cranked all the way up.
I actually like the sound of my NS-JH5 with the bass at about +3 mids at +5 and treble at +1. Cuts through the mix like a woodchipper. Which, coincidentally, is what it sounds like.
i'm still on the fence about it but i'm thinking of replacing the tone pump in my lx4 with an aggie, pretty much just need a good sale at gc to push me over the edge.

if I remove it all would you be interested in the whole setup prewired preamp,pots,knobs and all.
if I get my aggie prewired I could just unsolder my pickup leads and remove the whole setup since i'd be changing to a pushpull switch for volume and a stacked bass/treb knob ill be changing my knobs anyway so I could sell the whole thing as a package.
any sugestions on a fair price for this package.. tone pump w/trim wired with controle pots and stock knobs

On the topic of USA Bolt-Ons, it seems as if they are no longer making any solid maple BOs. Looks like if I want a backup, I'll have to buy used or "settle" for a Euro.
Can I get a number please, I am new to the world known as Spector. Oh yea, and loving every minute of it.
