When I find something I want I'll put it in the watch list and make sure I'm watching in the final minutes. If the price is still below my max I'll wait until about 30 seconds are left and put in my max and see what happens.

As I'm putting an EMG BQC in my ReBop, when the neck is fixed, I'll have one lying around.
I was originally going to use it in a Fender/Spector P hybrid I'm working on (Spector Legend bridge, EMG 40HZ pickups, Tonepump) but I may put a BQC or BTC in there, too.

I put a Tonepump in an Epibird I have, sounds killer. Obviously not like a Spector, but any bit of Spector helps right? :D

Possibly for more exposure, I.E. there's more time for potential buyers to see it and get interested before the bidding war, the more people see it, the better I would think.

Yeah, it was a piece of cake on my NS20004, didnt even need to sand it, but the Rebop cavity is apparently tiny, heres an illustration of how big the difference is between the cavity and the pre.

Note: the black edge along the bottom is the protective covering on the pre, not the edge of the control cavity. Also the broken edge of the board was done long before I got it, don't blame me for that one!

Ooh. How does the Epibird sound with a TP? I've often though of getting one! I like the shape more than the Rex/Spector X. It's not as squat and looks more balanced. Apparently the neck P-up in the EB-3 is the same as the TB Plus, but with a different housing & position.

Well, balls to the 9V in the Rebop! Good thing I chose to go with a BQC! lol 9V would have been my next choice.

The Epi can get growly with the Tonepump, but not as articulate or clear and without the bite of a Spector. Compared to say, EMG-Hz's with a Tonepump like in a Rebop, they are less articulate and warmer, more like an all-passive tone. Comparing it to how it sounded with the stock passove tone knob it feels about the same when the EQ controls are 'centered' so it doesn't really color the tone a lot until you boost or cut.

I usually roll off both EQ knobs to get the nice middy TP sound. Honestly my experience is it is roughly the same basic tone the instrument already had...but made BETTER with the controls of the TP in place of a passive tone knob.

Wow, that is a smaller cavity, I don't think you could do enough filing on the pre to fit it. My Coda's cavity is smaller and you'd have to do a heck of a lot of routing to fit a USA Spector 9V circuit.

I guess I will. I always read how BSO is THEE one stop shop for strings with the hookup. Usually my first instinct is to shop local. Which makes me wonder if buying them at one of the several Guitar Centers around here is still considered shopping local?? I always try to avoid large chains too.
