I'm a little surprised that it has the full brass, matte bridge
as I was under the impression they went to the polished "alloy" bridge shortly after mine (NB0508. The ebay bass is NB1548. A full 1040 basses later than mine.).
Notice the crack spreading up by the bridge the whole route is busted up not just 1 pot.
Exactly what I was thinking. They did that, but it didn't fix the problem. It appears that the 19th fret is a dud, and needs to be replaced.
I'm surprised they didn't catch that before shipping it.
Wood instruments tend to change a bit when shipped to different climates. As new as that bass is, the wood still thinks its a tree. I'm sure the Spectors guys will make it right.
I sent the seller a question about the cracks... they go through the finish and into the wood (visible on the inside of the control cavity)

Putting in a US9V COPY to compare to my other 2 Spectors with the same preamp since I love it so much, the Tonepump is a nice pre but IMO not quite the closest in tone, plus this board has a BLEND pot and I love master volume and blend.
When I played it before the operation started, it had a real nice growl, I think the different pickup placement (both pickups are significantly closer together than neck-thru basses) gets closer to the true sweet spot so theres more burble and growl. You get a bit less lows with the neck pickup closer to the bridge, but the preamp easily solves that!

yes! Honestly they both sound great. I love my CRFM and I also love my Legend X. I'll be honest I don't care, just give me a Spector with a tonepump

I'm really surprised they don't, being that they are a high end, boutique instrument! I plan on having my BO 5MM PLEK'd as soon as possible once it gets here!!
My one and only US Spector was a NS-4H2 Bolt-on. I loved the look and tone, however, I much preferred the neck-through necks over the bolt on. As soon as I got down up to the 9th fret or so of the bolt-on, the neck/fingerboard began to get wider than the size/shape of the neck-though. It was really noticeable to me. That's when I realized I should give a Wimbish neck a try, which I have now and it's perfect for me.
The bolt on tone was amazing, and I do miss it, but I know what I really love now. This spalted Wimbish is it! The only thing I see possibly changing in it will be the preamp, but I may not even do that. I bought an OBP-2 to put in it and its just sitting here. I think I'm totally content for the fist time in a long time!
I must admit a preference for neck through.

Neck-thru for me too, but I'm fond of several pre/pup combos; the Tonepump/emg PJ setup of the Euro is cool, but I'm especially fond of the US 9-v/EMG PJ setup of the NS-2 & the US 18-v/EMG DC setup of the NS-4.
I still can't decide which of these two is my favorite & couldn't live without, and fortunately, I don't have to.
Random question for the Coda-philes in the club. Will a Fender licensed neck drop in a Coda body without any modifications?

I notice a huge difference, I'm just figuring out how to get my basses up to Philtone's in Baltimore.
You won't be disappointed with Phil. When I met up with Ho (Mr.Bassie720,) he took my 2001 Rebop 5 since he was planning on paying Phil a visit and I wanted it looked at since I was getting some major buzzing on frets. I thought it was going to need a ton of work like the truss rod being replaced (it was not moving too well) as well as a new nut and possibly frets being bad.
He put it on his PLEK machine and all my frets were fine except a few that were sticking out the side that needed to be filed down which is not surprising since this bass is 12 years old. He was able to lube up the truss rod and nut with gun oil which got it moving again so he gave the bass a full setup and man, this thing is playing great.
He's a great guy too and talked to me on the phone for a good amount of timing explaining so many things to me which was great to hear. I have this bass tuned down 1 and a half steps to G# C# F# B E so there is a .158 B string and you don't even notice the extra mass since this bass is setup so well.
First thoughts on the Korean copy of the USA9V now installed in my Rebop: AWWW YEAHHHH tomorrow I can blast this thing on full once I get it all the way back together again and get some true impressions
Second thoughts: Wow I didn't expect to have to use my router, thank god the cavity cover is so big it covers the whole thing.
So yeah FYI Rebop'ers, the USA9V Spector preamp and any of its copies will not fit without some serious modifications, unless you have the stomach for it (my nerves are a bit shot after using a router on a curved body but all's well that ends well right?) stick with a preamp without large circuit boards

He setup the Kramer refin, refretted and PLEK'd. Setup C# with .130 Circle K set and it plays like butter.

Interesting. That was a mod that I'd actually planned on doing with that Rebop but I just never got around to it. Any time that you have to carve into the body, I've found at least, is a stressful, ass-puckering experience.
I'm glad that you made it through unscathed and arrived at the AWWW YEAHHHH phase.
When I installed the MIK 9V HAZ into the NS-95 I filed a little on the circuit board vs. shredding wood off.
It was quick and painless.
