Good, bass, awesome?

Solid and awesome... depending on the price.
Very under-rated. Built slightly better than the NS-2A with more modern electronics.
Curved body but NS-2000 body shape (later used for basses like the Q-4/5 Pro (which were flat).
It's a solid, solid player's bass. And with some electronics updates (mainly EMG DC pups), it can be a monster...
It just honestly depends on the price.

I agree. I had an NS-2000/5 for about 6 months & it was amazing. I only sold it because it weighed more than my ReBop and I wanted a Fender Classic 50's P (that was sold to upgrade the electronics on my 'bop)

Totally. I recently picked up a USA Zon with graphite neck... WOW... love it.

Play what makes you happy. Anyone who says otherwise is simply trying to sell you something.

You owe it to yourself to play the instrument(s) you best feel expresses the music in your soul.

I was trying to learn more about the Zon, which one did you get? Got a picture (I feel silly asking YOU if you have a picture...lol)??

I play a USA made Breedlove Atlas Studio. Of course this is an acoustic-electric guitar. But they also make bass guitars. And I LOVE my Breedlove. Such a great sounding, well-made, and still affordable instrument.

Patrick - I looked at some Breedlove models, too.
The tough thing about electric-acoustic basses is that none of the retailers in NC stock any of them. They will tell you they can order them, but you're still buying them sight-unseen. This is when I miss living in SoCal.
Regarding the Zon, you got the VB4, didn't you? I think I saw.a pic before. I must admit that I'm curious about them too, especially now that Modulus is kaput.

Thanks. I like it, I just want that spector sound for a 5 stringer. It's too addicting to want that tone.

It's never blasphemy to try and sell or trade a bass to get another Spector.

In the same boat! Want to move two of my 5'rs to get a Spector 5 string or 35" scale 4 string!

The Spector sound makes me happy. Cant get that with a Warwick.

Absolutely. I've upgraded to a EMG 35P and a EMG 35dc with a trim tonepump and I can get about 90-95% of the higher priced spectors. Well worth the money. Tremendous basses for the money!

What a show last night! Incredible turnout and the sound was amazing! The venue was awesome and the crowd was great. I couldn't ask for a better show. It was above my expectations! The Brooklyn rocked the house!!!!! I love that bass!

love you guys' sound...that one tune you posted in the youtube link I watched where you were doing the tone test on youtube with your forte...I hadn't heard the entire tune...I like the way you guys integrate the spoken stuff...really cool

Straight trade for a practically brand new squier vintage modified p. He was gonna give it away so we're trading and he's gonna just give this one away. I'm thinking I'm getting a pretty good hook up. Time will tell. Only thing he says it needs two new tuner washers and strings. Other then that it's in great shape. I'm pretty stoked. What's a decent price on these? What pickups does it come with? I'm actually happy it's passive. I'm a passive kind of guy.

I like an acoustic fretless and they are good for taking a day up on the parkway.

I got my CRFM and not sure how I feel about it. I LOVE the tone and the quallity but I'm so used to Fender style necks anything else just doesn't work for me. So this might be going back to the classifieds for trade unless I start to click with the neck.

Give it some time, and I think you'll start digging the Spector neck. I played Rickenbackers exclusively for decades, and it took me a month or two to get used to the Spector neck profile. Once I did, I ended up selling all 5 of my Rics...

That Spector tone - nothing else even comes close.

Hmmm... I was the opposite. When I bought my first Spector (a Euro) I put down my MIA JazzV and never picked it up again.

We're all different. Hang in there, you'll grow to love it. Or maybe you're a Coda guy!

Couldn't agree more; Breedlove's are the best acoustic made in my opinion, I've liked the one's I've played more than Taylor's and Martin's costing much more.
