I was looking over the basses in the early pages and I have to say Michael, your bass looks perfect in the snow like that. Love it!
Until you get the TP. Lower your pickups a little (3-4 turns) It'll make it less touchy (adjust from there to taste) . They say Emg's should be close but don't worry about that. I think you might like the result. It will help you control the "maximum snarl" and get your dynamics back where your used to.
the TP will let you control how hard you hit the amp with that " max snarl". That's why I love the pump for a pre. Spector tone and the ability to go from almost passive out put, to pre amp driving levels wile controlling your max dynamics with the pickup height.
Love me some pedulla's! They make a sweet bass. Love that ugly "water dog "MVP too. The best fretless in the biz too IMO. Those things mwah like a scalded dog when you look at em. Lol. Their similar to a Spector build wise. Beautiful tops and stains on them as well. Yep it's a Spector thread but nothing wrong with giving some love to an exceptional quality bass.

Picked up this great Zebop yesterday at GC in Richmond, VA. Drove all the way from Philly to check her out! Needs a little bit of truss rod adjustment and there's a tiny series of scratches on the lower rear, but I'm not unhappy at all.
edit: But I didn't make any friends. I returned a Schecter Stiletto Studio 5 I bought as well as a weak Markbass head, which basically covered the cost of the bass. Between the 5-6 people who helped on all transactions, nobody made much in commission. They weren't particularly pleased to help me.

After stringing my Rebop BEAD i can now savely answer all those "whats the best bass for metal?" questions. Boy does it sound mean but still articulate. Outstanding.
I have purchased a 'lower end' model fretless which has allowed me to learn that method and I will get something better some day. I would also like to do the same with a 5 string bass (I play 4 string), a Legend would be perfect for that introduction. Even if the Legend might be concidered a 'lower end' it really isn't, it's a great platform for modification if that is what you would like to do...or...you can leave it alone and enjoy it like it was designed, I have a NS2A which is stock and I enjoy it very much!

This picture reminded me of the blue in middle of white seen in glaciers. This is what I'm going to do for a fretless bass as well. I'd seen a fretless Legend 5 (neckthru) that comes with the original leather gig bag on eBay. But I need to sell my Carvin B1500 bass amp first, on eBay. 2 days left on my amp. Thankfully the Legend didn't sell, the price was a bit high. Maybe he will repost or I'll contact with an offer. I'd really like a fretless with ebony fingerboard. I don't want to spend a lot of $$$$ on a fretless in case I don't take to it. I've thought about picking up a Spector ReBop5 or Legend5 for a lower price and change out the neck to fretless if need be.

It sounds like a great plan you have put together for a fretless ICE. I wound up not taking my fretless Friday night (I got a call for us to cover for a couple of bands that got stuck in the snow and ICE) and it now sounds different when its missing...I covered these songs before I got the Fretless and now I have trained myself a different technique which only sounds correct on the fretless!!!! DANG...no options left!!!! lol

NOW, I sold the Carvin amp today, yay!
Now my quest for a fretless bass! First preference is Spector of course...it's about impossible to get "THAT" tone out of my head after 5 years of playing Spectors. Carey, what pickup & pre config is your fretless? So is that what I have to look forward to once I've played fretless and gotten used to it? Seems to be the way of true fretless players I've heard. 
How'd your Friday gig go otherwise? Do you play your fretless for Sunday service mostly?

I definitely use a 90 degree instrument cable on the Coda. Pushes in harder than other Spectors...there's a audible click when seated. I like this position better also.
Half what keeps me from putting a cover on Big Blue. Love looking at her maple top! Hahaha!Duh! It's to keep the snow out of that beauty!

The Euro4LX TW has the option of a 35" neck and if you want it can be set up with a nut that will accommodate a BEAD tuning but doesn't have to be that way. I had a TW once with the 34" neck in standard tuning.
All three shows went great, Friday we played three one hour sets and with the road condition wasn't expecting a lot of people but it was packed! Saturday we played our full set list of 42 songs at a new club and started off slow but after the first set it filled up. Sunday was 4 songs and I was only running on my wake-up coffee and made a little mistake!Haha, thanks Carey.

I only use the fretless for the cover band and on songs that have been recorded using fretless (Pink Floyd-Hey You, Ozzy-Mama I'm coming home) but the band leader at church was showing me a song he is interested in which has the fretless sound...so...gotta do it! lol You will find that its a very natural sounding effect and once you introduce it you will miss it if you don't have the time to bring it with you to a performance!
