SPECTOR® Club - Part 74

I tried out my Fender P with nontrim TP today.
I'm happy to say that:

1. I got all the wiring right & nothing blew up in my face.
2. The tone on this is ALL Spector!

I felt this overwhelming calm & joy come over me when I played it. Everything I've been missing about my ReBop's sound for the last few months was there!
I made the mistake of playing my Jackson afterwards, though. I must say, the pre in this thing is GARBAGE by comparison to even a tonepump! I'm going to have to search out an alternative for a reasonable price Maybe I'll wait a month & source another TP, and then figure out what to do with the empty hole that will be left (Jackson has 3-band EQ, no stacked pots). *sigh*

I had a Euro4 once with the 18v and a kill switch. That switch was pretty handy. Didn't have to pull the plug every time I put it down. :smug:

The thought had crossed my mind, but I always unplug my basses, as my band's acoustic player trips over everything. -_-
I'm adding 2 switches to it, to complete the sweeping layout of the controls. One's a master series/parallel and the other's an active/passive, so I might turn the extra pot into a passive tone control? The wiring on this thing is going to be confusing but I'm confident that I can do it, especially since I was able to install the Tonepump in my P-bass. :)

My Guess is Volume, Treble, Bass, Passive Tone & one is a push/pull.

Damn, my Jackson has 5 knobs and a switch, and it doesn't work, and I don't know if I want to keep it. And if I put a Spector pre in there, I'd keep all the knobs for "show." Like, dummy knobs. And just twist them all the way through the gig to make it look like I'm doing awesome stuff. Or wire them up wirelessly to some midi controller and play with EQ rolloffs or something live. That'd be fun. Could do some weird dubstep if I wired it into the cutoff freq... Hmmm....

No need to apologize, that's not cool at all.

I'm a firm believer that if you get a good deal you should pass on the good deal to someone else when you're ready to let the gear go. Too bad one of the club members couldn't have picked it up, it sure is nice.

How do you MESA M6 Carbine guys run your amp settings?

My rig: Mesa M6 Carbine, Mesa Powerhouse 1x15 and 2x10 (silver grill version). Looks and sounds great.
But I never seem to settle for one setting. Particularly the voicing switch, I sometimes run it 5 for the thundering low mids and the somewhat capped treble, sometimes 1 or 2 for extreme sizzle and that shaking floor feeling. It is great that this amp gives such a punch without pressing the ears so much. But the recordings tend to be very very bassy. Too much for my liking. Any Ideas?

This is disgusting. The sad thing is that I know a guy whom I recently "switched" to Spectors and he was mad about buying this bass but unfortunatelly was late with PM to Ho...not cool.
