Really ! I was just getting ready to purchase a new trim pot tone pump and now there SOLD OUT. Errrrr!

Look into the EMG BTS System, I've been pleasantly surprised with the 2 in my Spectors (rex and green Euro) they're really quite aggressive but not over the top so the tone is still very clear. I didn't have a trim pot TP but I'd say its more tame then the non trim TP, while still putting out lots of growl. Actually considering taking the OBP-3 out of my Blue Euro and throwing a BTS in it, for such an inexpensive preamp I'm really happy with it, and my band members surprisingly like the tone of my 18V Rex 5 to my OBP-3 Euro 5. I find that the BTS sounds better with the EMG DC's in my Euro then the HZ's in my Rex, but I'll swap those out eventually for DC's too.

Agreed. The BTS is a VERY Spector pre-amp. And doesn't hurt the value of the Euro.

Also, I want your Rex if you ever decide to sell. If I have the funds. lol

My Rebop has a BTS in it and it kills with the HZs. Definitely a different flavor then my Euro with BQC, but killer tone. It seems a bit more aggressive with how I set the dip switches.

Pretty much. The only way to get your hands on one is if it comes with a svelte wooden wrapper postmarked Woodstock, NY.

Last time I checked with Spector, back in early November, there were 13 people on the wait list and no guaranteed delivery date. The price tag was also out of my range, so I spent the last couple of months figuring out how to build my own. Reverse engineering that thing from google image searches was a bee-atch, but it was worth it.

but, it looks kinda familiar... I was thinking about going that wide with the spine and that IS what I pictured.
But, I wasn't sure about it being strong enough as it's a bolt on neck

I'm hardly famous.

The thing I keep wrestling with in my mind is what do you do when someone you care about treats you in a hurtful way?

Do you let it destroy you?
Do you get angry and attempt to return the hurt?
Or do you say, "There but by the grace of God go I" and walk away with forgiveness and dignity?

When I am faced with really hurtful situations I go back to the time when I had been told I had a near golf-ball sized tumor in my sinuses, roots 3mm from my brain. I was told that with radical surgery and chemotherapy I had a 27% chance of surviving 2 years.

I like to remember that moment, being told that you have cancer that is most likely terminal; the feeling of the floor giving way beneath you and time standing still… the sound of my own heartbeat thundering in my ears… because it helps me put these otherwise difficult events into clear perspective.

I have survived far worse than this.

I have so much to be thankful for.

Guess it's time for option 3 from above.

It's time I say goodbye. I won't be back here.

Let me end things with this; I stand by everything I've ever said here. Stuart makes the best bass guitars in the world in my opinion. I meant it when I have written here that your musical journey belongs to you. You should play whatever makes you love playing and I am happy for those of you who have found your conduit of choice; the guitar that makes you happy to be alive and to be a bassist.

Love your Spectors and enjoy the excellent fellowship here.

Correct - they are not in our group. Patrick was referring to an individual not in the Spector Club.
And you are right - Patrick has many friends in the Spector Club (I'm proud to call myself one of his friends), and we will all miss his presence here.

Patrick, sorry to hear this news. It really is unfortunate. Your insights were a driving force for me as i got to know Spector basses. I would probably still be playing my Warwicks had you not been in this club with all of the reliable and positive information. I can't fathom why they would treat you that way, just doesn't seem right.

I'll likely be selling my tonepump once my new EMG Geezer Butler sig pickups arrive for my natural 435LX. However, they may not arrive for a little while.

I ordered the sig set for my matte Euro also. Looking forward to checking them out.

If I took the high road all the time, I'd have nothing to talk about.

Patrick is a good guy and I like him. His posts were well thought out, I think he spent a lot time writing them. His excitement about these basses really rubbed off. I can see how that excitement maybe led him to do more than PJ wanted him to do. I can see how someone like JPS and someone like PJ would get tired of each other. (I don't know PJ is the person he had the problem with, just guessing)

I guess he flew to close to the sun.

I bet he sees himself as being rejected. That sucks, I've been there several times. It can really leave a scar.

Now that he's gone....can we talk bad about him now?....or is it to soon?
