SPECTOR® Club - Part 77

I can't multiple-quote on my phone so I want to say thanks for the words of encouragement, understanding, and of relating. There is no better group of musicians than here in this club.

This quote stems from those comments and I think it's a great idea. I'd really like to see that happen. I think it would be beneficial especially for those of us that are just learning/starting or not as proficient as we would like to be, to learn from our brothers who are.

Though I have been a member of TB 13 years or so, a brother in this club for a few years, and playing on and off since high school, I don't play well.
That said, I DO know what I love in a bass AND what tone I love. I have the found the equipment that gives me that feel and sound in Spector and Trace Elliot Amplification.

I would just want to meet you brother Trace, you don't even have to play if you don't want...heck I probably wont play because I plan on being busy meeting and communicating with everyone plus having a good time!

An amazing Poplar Burl 4LX/EX went up on my local Craigslist about a day after I was paid for my recently sold EBMM 05 Sunburst 4H.

So, obviously, I bought it.

The wife and I have decided to name him Peanut Butter.

Also, I bought Swampy.

Busy week.

Beautiful Peanut Butter....but....The Swampy is yours???

Yessir! I think I PM'd Eric about...6 minutes after the post hit the classifieds. Had to make sure the wife wouldn't kill me for buying two in the same week.

Bless her heart, she saw the photos, realized it was Swampy (which I'd shown her before) and asked me what I was waiting for ;-).

Pics will follow when Swamp arrives safely on this coast!

Congrats on the NBD!
I have the mate to your peanut butter, your gonna love how this this thing plays! Mine has the non trim tone pump and is very bright sounding even with Elixier nanos on it. I'm considering putting La Bella white tapewounds on it to further tame he top end.

Anyone else tried the white La Bella's on a Spector yet?

That's great...but...didn't he warn you about something?

Well, I looked into it and where I can get the time off (and a blessing from my wife) for the Spector hang, the plane tickets would cost about $1,600 (not including my bass) plus it'd be a 21 hour trip each way, with a stop in London and Chicago, plus motel room fees. So unless we start a kickstarter to raise half the cash it looks like I might be out :( I was super excited about it too. Did not expect the tickets to be that much!

Just for my wife and I to fly from Michigan to Tulsa is $1200...so that's why we chose to drive. I know you can't drive from Norway though;) I sure hope the funds come for you to attend.

I'd say so. :D:bassist: Ted's a stand-up kinda guy. He'll take good care of ol' swampy. And a bro with impeccable taste, apparently!

I did! Thank you!
I notice the spacing on my cherry burst NS-2A is closer than the brass nut you sent me. I placed it upside down on the strings and they don't sit in the slots.
Is there a difference in spacing between the 2A and a Kramer era NS-2 ?

You're welcome. Might be...my former NS-2A was an early Kramer era...that's too bad it doesn't line up to your strings :( I have another spare but it's for a Legend Classic. :hmm:
