My new family member arrived @ 4:15pm today.
I'm wondering if this bass was ever played even?! Not a buckle rash one on the back...I can't find a hairline scratch anywhere on this beauty! If it wasn't for this axe being made for some serious playing, it'd be a museum piece! Played a bit on the newly GC installed squeaky strings...WOW! That's about all I can say! This is a BEASTLY Bass!!! My first active pups bass. I turned the neck, P pup 100%, bridge, J to 0. What a meaty solid low tone, very steady tone. Turn P off and J 100%. there's that mid tone growl! But a bit too bouncy twangy. I rolled both P/J to 50%, a meaty growl! That put a smile on my face. I like that. I then rolled P 100% & J at 50%, now we are talking, no, commanding attention! The later is my favorite pups positioning! The tones were set with bass 100%, treble 25% during all testing. NOW...string change! GHS Long scale Precision SS FW, .45-.105 mediums. I'll give another report after.
I took one single photo and one with it's older siblings.
Even my wife said,"wow! I really like the black with gold hardware!"

Congrats: Glad to hear it is great shape. Make sure you eat and sleep some over the next few days. Remember you can also adjust the Tonepump output if the overall output is much hotter compared to your others.
What is the first 2 digits after the NB on the seri#? So you can get an idea when it was made. Black with Gold is very sweet and classy.

This Ian Hill bass, with SS FW strings on sounds out of this world. I only had to adjust one string for intonation. The strings are the lowest to the neck than any I've played! And I thought the NS-2A was low! The neck plays so crazy fast and very very smooth and fluid! The neck feels like a twig in my hand! This is one that I can say that it practically plays it's self.

Thank you Stuart Spector for such a fine instrument!!! My hat's off to you sir!

My Euro LX is NB91** and that was made in early 2010.

The strings are the lowest to the neck than any I've played! And I thought the NS-2A was low! The neck plays so crazy fast and very very smooth and fluid! The neck feels like a twig in my hand! This is one that I can say that it practically plays it's self.

Just like I said in "My Spector Video' First bass I ever had where I said the action may even be too low... Also, I dont remember if I mentioned it in the video, but I keep saying the same thing...this bass feels like it is playing itself.

And I purchased it as New "Old Stock" from Basscentral.

So you just got yourself a New EuroLX Ian for half price... woohoo.

I had the pleasure of trying his Euro 5LX and he tried out my brigade.

I thought I was never a 5 string guy but that neck was very comfy and super fast...
I am feeling 5 string GAS now. Why does Stuart do this to us?

P.S. The 5 String didn't fit in the standard 4 string Spector Case.

You want to talk GAS? I got to try out 5 different Spectors which is something one can rarely do and it was amazing to see how each one was different. Apologize to your wife for me ahead of time though since now you want a 5

Thinking of replacing my pre-2008 Tone Pump circuit with a newer one with the adjustable trim pot.

Does anybody know if the newer one sounds different (other than trimming it down to lower output) ?

I know where you can get a Gorgeous NS-95 SSD for little $$! If I lived close I'd let you try her. The neck is really sweet and fast.
About the case size thing...I looked at my new case that came with my Ian Hill, standing side by side with the case from former ReBop. NO WAY are they same, PERIOD! I'm including a pic.
