Rick, My first bridge like this is on my Ian Hill that I just received yesterday...When I changed strings yesterday I didn't think of looking at the bridge groove. All that excitement you know!
I'll take a look at it in a little bit when I'm back home. Anyone else???
Here's one with a 130 non taper Pro Steel. It's not even close to fitting. Unless I'm doing something wrong. It HAS been known to happen

That's ugly! Something's not right for sure.
Rick...I know it's not a fair comparison bc my Ian Hills a 4 string with E string is .105. I looked my bridge over and I don't see any difference in the two bridges. Here's a pic of mine.
No, they are not.About the case size thing...I looked at my new case that came with my Ian Hill, standing side by side with the case from former ReBop. NO WAY are they same, PERIOD!
I have all three sizes. The 5 and 6 string cases have the same outer dimensions, but the form cut is slightly larger in the 6 string case. The 4 string case is about 3/4 to an inch shorter (outer dimentions) and about a half inch narrower if I remember correctly.

If you notice though the latches on the 5 St case are spread out wider and larger latches. I'd surmise compensation for longer and heavier guitar. Also the 5 st case has dbl. row stitching on the end protectors. That's my scientific research.
I thought it would be interesting to share a sound comparison of my Spectors.
Below are MP3 clips of me just playing about a minute improv on each of them. (All similar style, just trying to demonstrate the tone differences accross the neck)
Recorded direct into Protools 9 (Flat-no EQ within the program)
On each clip I listed the settings used for each bass and the strings used. (The settings are what I feel are the best sound for each bass)
Note: the NS-2A is tuned down a 1/2 step the other 4 are Standard tuning.

I can hear the differences in each bass. The Rebop DOES sound deeper and heavier than the others.... I kinda like it.
Your NS-2JA-R sounds a lot like my NS-2J, even with different hardware and electronics, btw. I guess that depends on my settings as well but, that just goes to show the wide tonal range of a SPECTOR bass, no?
And ... I could swear you're playing my NS-2A, though....
