This is shady. I talked to this guy on a CL ad for an NS2A with crown inlays. He said he would send me some better pics of the CL bass and I never heard from him again. I was actually really interested in the CL Spector as well.

I saw the one on CL (don't remember the city) around the same time this eBay one was listed the first time. I think it was all original and the inlays looked far better than this one. And his price was much more realistic.

I still think these inlays on the eBay bass are after market. They look bad.

Thanks very much. No, not the bass but did include a signed, personalized note to me on a picture of him playing this bass. Very cool for me. And without sounding like a 13 YO Bieber fan he was just a great guy to deal with. Sent some extra strings, a strap, etc. It's was just a hoot to do business with one of my all time favorites and influences. That aside though the bass is in terrific condition. It's also been professionally set up (as you might imagine) so it also plays beautifully. Case is even new and unused.

But, here's the odd thing. Normally I get a guitar or bass and immediately go to work on it, swapping this, changing that but I have never had a bass with actual history so I am wholly inclined to leave it exactly as it is. In the same vein sometimes dings and scratches can bug me but not in this case. It's the first time I am actually understanding the 'mojo'. It's hard to get me excited about some of this stuff anymore because I have been changing basses and guitars like socks lately but this has honestly been really, really fun stuff for me.

Thanks and agreed. I have had way more good than bad transactions buying and selling on eBay though. In over a thousand deals I can probably count on one hand the bad ones. The last one just cost me a bit more than most of them...

It's an interesting grain. Kinda burl-like and kinda marble-like. Actually unexpected. I thought it was going to be a plain black bass! Awesome surprise.

Man, that really is a sweet looking bass Nervous. That is really cool too that Graham included the signed personalized note as well.

I thought the same in one of the pics. I've gotten more good than bad deals thru eBay & GC. no bad really.

After playing my newly acquired Ian Hill bass I'm a believer that the more expensive the bass is(Actual, not price paid) the greater quality and better playing bass you'll get to play. :Bassist:
