Just following Limaguy's lead here. I made some direct clips with my Spector NS-2000/4.

Great clips, I am thinking I need your stuff on my ipod for my workouts...do you have a cd? What is your honest take on the NS 2000/4? I think its a great bass for the money.:cool:

I just wanted to say that I checked out the latest "My Spector Story" and how touched I am by Patrick and Lima's stories. I hope you both are doing well!

I have a soundclick page with some of my tunes for download for free. I am currently working on my first D20 album which I have done some tracking on. Also I've been really busy on trying to finish my band The Icarus Effects album as well.

I love my NS2000/4!!! For the money it's an awesome bass! I'm working on dropping some 35DCs in it as well as refinishing it. It plays so well though! The neck is super fast IMO.

I only just joined and I hope no one minds but I just had to share my latest bass. I found it for sale here in the UK in March.

It's a Woodstock built NS XL5 serial #053 from June 2001 (hand signed on the back of the headstock. Its a stunning bass and sounds unreal although this may in part be due to it having an aftermarket John East 18v pre amp fitted!!!

I've been a Wariwck boy thru and thru since the early 90's but mine have all been gathering dust for a copuple of months!

Only down side (if you can call it that) is the regular waxing and cleaning on the unsealed finish, a small price to pay :)

I am doing well, thanks. I also was first touched by Patrick's story so much; that is what influenced me to do mine.
The whole My Spector Story is such a great idea.

Thanks, funny thing is I was looking for an early 5 string thru neck maple Warwick streamer (any Warwick after about 1996 just isn't the same quality as the old ones!!) and I found this!

I do have to say tho the neck is bigger than the other 5 Warwick I have but I've got used to it quickly and it's just so silky smooth to play :-)

Your Spector is most likely 35" scale and the Warwick is probably 34" scale. My Euro 5LX is the first 35" scale bass I have ever owned but, like you, I got used to it very quickly and don't have any issues switching back and forth between the different scale lengths. I think my next 4 string Spector will be a 35" inch scale also since I am starting to prefer the larger neck size.

This afternoon was my first band practice with my Ian Hill. Its one thing to practice at home but when I'm with the band, I'm a more aggressive player. The Ian Hill neck is soooo crazy fast to play! We were into the second song when my drummer asks me,"did you get a new bass?! I wondered why your bass sounded better?!" I didn't know whether to hit him with it or thank him!:eyebrow:I think all my Spector's sound great! Since I'm in love (yes LimaGuy) with my Ian Hill, I thanked him. It was a thorough treat to play my Ian Hill with my band!!! Looking forward to July 1-2, playing at a two day music fest for a memorial to fallen Michigan Musicians. Its going to be at an old farm. The stage is in an old barn with hay bales set up for seating. Should be a blast! :hyper: And no. We are not a CW band. Not that there's anything wrong with CW.:ninja: I like a lot of CW music.

But I have run into this once or twice over the years with other bridges. Simply take a regular (not needle nosed) pliers and squeeze the string at the point it sits in the bridge slot. It should flatten it somewhat enough for you to fit it in. It's a much easier solution than filing your bridge.

FWIW I had to do this tonight for the first time. The .130 that was in there was TIGHT! and there's no way the .128 replacement was sliding in so remembering this tip I grabbed the trusty Vise-Grips and gave it a little squeeze (of course noting the proper orientation of the ball end) and on it went with no issue whatsoever. Can't even tell it's been done. Thanks!
