I have done pretty much a complete overhaul to the bass,(as posted in an earlier thread) and I have to say it plays and sounds fantastic :bassist:
After all the consideration about doing the mods and realizing that I would be investing about the same amount of cash that I payed for the bass, I am really happy with the finished product.
Thanks Ice for the NS2A (w/Spector case) and to all the Spector heads who continue to share their knowledge and experiences in the Spector Club, what a great place to be a part of!!!

Brian...that is a beautiful mods! Did you keep the BEAD tuning? That drop tuner would be awesome for drop A!

Very gorgeous basses!!! A man after my own likes! That Legend 4 looks saucy fretless!! Hows the tone difference? Trace give this man a NUMBER!!!

Can I get in?
I just picked up my Spector Forte 4 today, and I'm completely in love with it.
I don't fall for just any bass. I've been on a mad search for a nicer, higher-end (for my budget) bass for about a month. I've torn through a Spector Euro 4, Fender American Special P-bass, Fender Mexican P-bass, Zon Legacy Import, and a MusicMan Reflex. I kept the Mexican P, because it had an amazingly woody sound and it played unexpectedly nice.
But the rest went back. None of them did it for me.
And then I played the Forte. Wow. The tone; the satin neck; the tone; the comfort... It had it all. Nicest bass I've played in a long time. I'm smitten, I say! Smitten!
Plus, and most importantly, it's number 011. Which means my bass goes to 11. :bassist:
I have yet to name it, but I think this one will stick around for the long haul.

Thanks, it seems as if we have similar taste in basses.

The legend sounds great (wish I was better on fretless though). With just the bridge pickup and flats you get that sweet jaco tone with just a little bit of that spector growl, killer tone IMO. I scored that bass for $150! Looked like hell when I got it though.

Actually the shipment is due in early next week but since nothing is shipping out I was asked to add it to the Online Store today.

Yeah... that's part of my agreement with Stuart and PJ. Each year we discuss which bass is going to be "the Poster Child" for the coming year's marketing.

It was agreed pretty much from the beginning that The Black Pearl was this year's bass. Last year it was PJ's solid walnut burl NS-2.

So you guys will probably get sick of seeing my baby before too long. LOL. But it's going to be on a lot of stuff in the coming months. :bassist: :D
