Beautiful finish on the Wimbish, and great story! What Mesa gear are you using?

Thanks guys! That is a Mesa M6 212 combo. I use in ears about 95% of the time and don't even have an amp in the truck right now! GREAT rig for the money! Sounds awesome with all my basses and can get super loud. I am almost certain they aren't making them anymore which is a shame. I have been very happy with my mine since the day I got it...

Peace,

T

Those Forte basses are nice! It would be nice to see these with bolt-on necks, too. We can wish, right?

That's essentially what you get in an older model USA bolt-on. Solid body flamed maple, no inlays, OBP-2, but different pickups and more colors. The used market under-values those basses. They don't come up that often, but when they do, they usually go for a very reasonable price.

More Forte love!!!! (need to get more pics done...)
Mine is number 18...doesn't have the same wavy pattern that JPS photographed. But it's a beauty and sounds amazing too! I will install the 9V in the future.
Best value for a US model in my opinion. The simplicity is also part of it's beauty.

Man, you guys are killing me with all this Forte talk. I just found a place not too far from me that has a 4 and a 5 string in stock and really want to go try them out. The problem is, I don't have the money right now so I really don't want to get my hopes up and then have to wait. :bawl:

Has anyone in the Pennsylvania/NJ area ever been to this place by chance?

They also have a USA bolt-on in stock so I would love to try that also.

I don't know if that'd be a blessing or curse to have a guitar store like that so close to home?!? But it'd be nice to be able to test out some upper end SPECTORS!
BC has better prices. Very nice maple figuring on both Forte's!

Wow. And I think the Forte-5 is mislabeled.

THIS is Flame Maple (the Forte-4 they have listed):

The Forte-5 they show... that looks like Quilt Maple.

Jps , I know this may sound dumb to ask , cause the forte is the no frills bass .... But , could someone order a forte and upgrade it with black pearl crown inlays ????

That would be a PJ question... Sorry! I have no idea.

I think anything like that would be doable as a special order... but one of the major price breaks on the Forte is the "no inlay neck"... those inlays take a lot of time to do... so I'm sure if the answer is yes there'd be a hefty price bump which might end up being back near the NS-2 price.

Email him and see.

When I saw that BASSNW had a Forte in store, I got in my car, took my bass and amp for trade, went to the store, got a good deal on a trade-in, and got the Forte. I KNEW and I FELT that it would be a better bass for me before I even tried it out and I was right.
Even if you don't get to try it and and shoot in the dark...I think you'll still love it. :D
