That does look like the older non-trim TonePump.
Regarding the bridge saddles being bottomed out.
(very interesting) on the ReBop I had and any ReBop photos I have seen the Bridge saddles are usually set higher up then the Euro series because of the pickup and neck being higher off the body. Does the neck relief appear to be ok?

New. Bass. Day.
My new rebop showed up this morning. It is a new instrument, but it's clearly been hanging on the rack for awhile. It needed new strings and a cleaning, but it's a fantastic bass.
I'm guessing it's new old stock, as the preamp looks to be the older variety. It's got a very hot output and that distinctive Spector growl. I'm also finding that the bridge saddles are bottomed out on the E string, and I can't quite get it as low as I'd like. Anyone got a solution for that that doesn't require shimming the neck?

It will be arriving by ParcelForce, who deliver any time between 8am and 6pm. I'm hoping it will be early-ish so I have lots of time to play it

guy - that's a great looking zebop! Mine (flametop amber) has the older Tonepump, and I think the body is a tad bit longer because of the way the neck goes into the body.

Okay, serious question for you Spector lovers... I guess I should really be asking JPSBassist because he's the expert.
I've been wanting another Czech made Spector 5 string since I unfortunately had to part with my Euro 5 to pay some college bills for my daughter (that's love, fellas). I'm on a budget but I found a Rebop 5 string on eBay that's in my price range that I'm very tempted to bid on.
The problem is, the nut is gone (not that big a deal) and the truss rod adjusting nut has sheared and also needs to be replaced. I'm totally cool with a project, but where is the best place to get replacement parts (like a truss rod adjustment nut)? I looked around the web, even on the Spector site) and I don't know if I need to special order something like this or if your average luthier can make the repairs if I can't.
The guy is asking $300 because it needs these repairs, assuming it's just the two fixes (string nut and truss rod adjusting nut) is it worth it? If for some reason the neck can't be repaired, could I just order a Rebop neck directly from Spector and what would that cost?

I am sure JPS will respond with some great info. But let me jump in with some info for you. A Replacement 5 string ReBop neck can be ordered through Hanser. The North American Distributor for Spector Euro and Asian models. The list price is $500, not sure what the actual price would be, but I am guessing around $325-$375.

You may also be able to order a replacement Truss Rod from them.
Unless you are stuck on a 35" scale, you may want to look into a used NS-95 (SSD era Korean Model) which is 34" scale but is very good in quality for the price. Guitar Center has one for $399.99

I try but honestly I defer to Phat when it comes to the Euro models. I'm more of a USA guy. But I'll try to answer your questions...
OK. So far so good. LOL.
The nut isn't a big deal. A replacement can be purchased from SPECTOR. PJ Rubal is here in California with me this week... so you'll have to wait until next week to order it. Nuts are usually special order and can take a few weeks to get.
Another option is to find a good luthier or guitar tech in your area. I prefer a luthier and one that's a member of the national luthier's association. References are also good to ask for... If he's willing to give references then check them. If not... walk away.
The sheared truss rod nut... replacement truss rods can be purchased from places like Stu-Mac and any other luthier supply company. Again, I recommend getting the bass to a qualified luthier.
I haven't priced a complete replacement neck for a ReBop before. I can say that if you are willing to undertake some of this project on your own then yes... it might save you some cash.
But you know you're getting a guitar that's possibly been handled by someone who is clueless or at worst... abused. You might want to wait and watch. I know someone who got a nice older (dot neck) ReBop for $400 recently. And there wasn't a thing wrong with it.
You may want to pass on this damaged one. I mean you could replace the truss and nut and find that you still have to replace the entire neck, then you've got to do that... and by that time you could easily be in the $600-$800 range at which point you could get a nice newer model used with no problems at all.
It appears to me, that buying this ReBop, you may be buying someone else's problem. Just my gut. I say keep looking.
Thanks for the reply! I'm pretty stuck on the original curved NS body shape so a Czech made is exactly what I'm looking for. I've played the NS-95, the NS-2005, and the newer Legend 5 string, and while they are all nice instruments, they just aren't the same and they look and feel different.
Lots of guys, including yourself, have been selling some gorgeous 4 strings lately, but I desperately need a 5er. I would've been all over your zebra top Rebop had it been a 5 string.
I agree with Jps. Finish issues can be easily redone. Failing electronics can be replaced. A bass with neck issues is a red flag, and, unless its dirt cheap, should be avoided. Look thru guitar center's used spectors. They have quite a few from the Kramer era on thru to today. It also looks like there could be some good deals on a few.
I agree with JPS on this. Between parts and potential luthier cost you could get close to $800 easily.
Lately I have seen some used 5 string ReBops selling in the $500-$600 range.
