Euro or USA, it's a beauty for sure :)

...and so is macserv's NS5JH!!!
I've been drooling for another spector for a long time and this thread is a huge temptation

The mahogany body of the USA bolt ons is incredibly tempting. Mmmmm I can just picture how warm and smooth it would sound. Like thick melting butter on a hot pan, just getting to that sizzle where you can start frying up that crispy bacon.

I swear Im not high or anything, Ive been up since 10:00am working on a paper. Im going a little loopy!

Picture not unrelated...

Quick question guys..

How much do you see white NS 2JA-Rs going for online these days? Im talking about the re-issues.

Spector NS2-JA-R Ltd Ed '83 Reissue Bass w/gig bag mint | eBay

Im willing to make an offer on this one, I was thinking starting at 700. Is that low balling?

I don't think that's a bad offer to start with. I bought mine new for $899 last year. The bass is really nice. The fact that they are limited may keep him firm with his $899 price. What's the worst he can say... No?

I've seen that one on eBay and another has been on GC for a few weeks for same price, $899.00. Re-issues.

Alright thanks for the info guys :)
Ill make my offer and see what gives.

EDIT: Well, looks like his lowest acceptable offer is $800. Placed it, two hours left and Ive made
the only offer so we'll see what happens.

PS. Does anyone else find it annoying when people do that on their bids? I mean, this one was reasonable
and I understand why you would do that, so you dont get swamped with ridiculous low ball offers..
But generally speaking that must be quite annoying. Especially if the guy has something priced/listed
way wrong.

You guys need to watch eBay more.
About 3 weeks ago a guy with good feedback posted a white one that looked in fine shape for a $600, no reserve, opening bid.
No one bid. No re-list (so far).

This isn't uncommon on these. A few months ago there were 3 listed at around the same time for about $689 a piece. I don't remember if they all sold.

The market demand on these doesn't seem to match the higher prices many are listing these for.

Well he accepted my 800$ offer, although that 100$ more than I wanted to pay for it.. but, Ill be happy with it anyways for under 1000$.

Im just waiting on his response about shipping/payment details. Well see if this goes through.

I helped him ID the bass, and got High res pics 34.x Mb a piece. I can forward if you're interested... but it is pretty trashed. The bridge, pups and neck are all that is holding the body halves together. The head is split 3 places laterally. Some of the neck above the E string has burnt away....
He said Spector was not willing to rebuild it for him? "We're too busy". :eyebrow:
