Had to go back and see what bass Mr.Blanc was talking about as I'd lost track.

No taper needed.
I've used up to a .130 B without it being tight at all in the Spector bridge. So unless you're using something gargantuan....:eek:.

Did I miss a joke? What would the nut have to do with tapered strings?

OOPS. wrong thread... I was talking in a thread about trying bigger (fatter) strings. Got distracted....:help:

Well, Someone else had said to somebody else that they would have to get tapered string to fit the nut or cut it... in another thread - I am all over this forum you see....
Anywho, Since I do not play let alone own a 5'er (you never see me answer tech questions about them (I wait for you, JPS Icebox or Downunderwonder to get online) I just took what the other guy said for truth. Which is NOT common for me..
But, Really, I had thought he was talking about the nut, not the bridge as I seem to have skimmed right over that POI. And with what I thought was a good setup for double innuendo, ran with it.....:D

Ha. I love a good nut joke. Not much selection at GC. They had one taper wound set: DR Longnecks. I'll try those and see if I like them. I have a spare set of Pro Steels and the 130 B string didn't fit in the bridge. That's why I figured the tapers would work.

I don't even know how to respond... sorry!

If you run into issues with the restoration you may want to contact PJ and see if he can suggest a luthier in your area that can assist with the restoration. Really, you're in a salvage situation.

Uncharted waters for me my friend. PJ is the man with the answers.

I've used D'Addario chrome flats with a .135 on the B w/o any troubles on the bridge of my former Rebop 5. :confused:
But my main strings for my 5r's are GHS SS FW with .126 on the B. :D Loooooove those GHS Precisions!!!

Hey everyone...

I've decided to part ways with a couple of my Euro SPECTORS....

I just closed a deal for a new USA NS-2 from a SPECTOR dealer (Maple body, Pau Ferro fingerboard, USA 9v... a stock traditional NS-2) and Stuart is making me a NS-2 BEM which should be finished in the next few weeks. So that's TWO new USA NS-2's coming into the house.

I've decided to sell my Euro4LX Classic and my NS-2JA-R. As much as I love them both, they hardly get played now and with the new NS-2s coming in I doubt they ever will. So I want them to go to a good home.

The NS-2JA-R is flawless.
The Euro4LX has been used in tons of SPECTOR promotional photos, two music videos and an upcoming prime-time NBC show, "Love Bites" which will be out this summer. Both are great guitars.

Does anyone in the Spector Club play a Euro-6? If so, what's the string spacing? How would you describe it's neck profile?

I've owned an NS4CRFM for over 10 years and I recently pulled it out of mothballs. I really dig it's tone and build quality. I'm considering buying a Euro-6 to add to my 6er arsenal.

Neck is about the same thickness (front to back) as other Czech's. Feels bigger because it's wider. My old Legend 6 had a thinner neck, but also a more satin finish which will make a difference from the gloss this Euro LX has.

I would have liked a Natural Oil finish, but the gloss really hasn't bothered me too much. I've had it about a month now. If I decide not to keep her you'll see something in the club thread here.
