Pull the back cover. On the little circuit board is a trimmer pot that sets the preamp output level for the piezo. A small flat-blade screwdriver (3/16" or so) is needed to make the adjustment.

That is the only adjustment in there to make, so it is pretty easy!

You may want to put a fresh 9v in there, too, while it is open. No telling how old that one is. :)

WooHoo. It's here. Just took it out of it case and plugged it in. Yikes. Rings clear as a bell. A B string to die for. Oh and sustain for days. Like you all didn't already know that. There was a bit too much neck relief so I straightened that out a bit. Don't really notice a difference in the 35 inch scale length or the thicker neck. I was a bit worried about that since i heard a lot of people really had a problem with that. Maybe I'm just not that picky. Anyway thanks for everyone's input on this thread. I think I made a good decision. Will post pics later.

Took it to band practice last night. All I say is HOLY CARP BATMAN. Never in my life have I played a bass that was so articulate In the low end. Every note was discernible. My band mates were very impressed. Even they heard the difference. Lots of growl that cut through the mix nicely and a top that just sung with clarity. What a bass. I can't believe I've spent 35 years playing bolt ons. :crying:

I am one happy camper

What's funny is I found all that going from a neck through to a bolt-on. See? We are all different and it's not a one size fits all world.

OK...Made a jig to hold the bass to allow the cuts to be made without losing the angle of the curved body...;)
The neck gap will be addressed later. I will have to fill the holes on the treble side to allow for new holes to made and close that gap. Getting the strip of laminate to the right width may prove to be time consuming...:eyebrow:
Cleaned up the edges of the seam to laminated... Here is a mock up of the bass with an Oak strip.... the strip is still loose so you'll still see some gap but, once the glue is applied and clamped they should tighten up.:eyebrow:

Still not sure if I wanna go light with Oak or Maple orrr dark with Ebony. Maybe a tulipwood strip... Still looking for input and ideas.:hyper:

I'm glad it only took me 2 years to come over to the "thru" side. :D I absolutely love the tone, clarity and sustainability! :hyper:
