Something got screwed up. Those strings (as named) are correct for that bass.
Or.....
Is it the bass in your avatar? That bass should be 35". Any NS5CR that has the inlays should be 35".
Often times the windings won't quite reach over the nut on a 35" scale Spector with plain long scale strings.
At that point you will usually need the "SL"s.

I've been constantly stretching them over the past week and they seem to be long enough. The only one I have doubts on is my E which tapers on the nut (though all the frets sound usable) but when I drop tune it maybe not.
Just got to do the B now.
A bit later I forgot to click post. I need to drill my bridge to fit this .145 B.
I've yet to see that. I've played Spectors exclusively for years. When they changed the NSCR series from dots to inlays, they also changed the 5 strings from 34" to 35" around the same time. I've owned a couple. They were 35". Check the Spector history page. Ask others on this board. It's probably the answer to your string length issue.
Well doesn't matter. They fit. I have no idea why they all tapered before the nut earlier.
Maybe I jsut need to stretch them slightly when I put them on. Grab a hold after stringing and release my anger.
THese strings are actually two-band at the ball near the very very tiplike they should be and I was able to just grind the very tip with a screw and my hand to fit that part in. Sounds good. saved me $20.

+1 I used to own a NSCR with the dot inlays. It was 34". I also have confirmation from PJ that with the Euro basses, when they switched from dots to crowns on the fingerboard the scale on the 5-strings was increased to 35".

are you in standard tuning?
Sometimes you'll get lucky and the standard Long Scale might just reach, however, your bass is definately 35" and should have the SL's. No doubt about it.Well doesn't matter. They fit. I have no idea why they all tapered before the nut earlier.

The one issue I have always had with D'addarios is string length before taper, any bass where the strings ball ends are held more than 1/2" past the saddles (2-piece bridges, string-thru body etc) you have to go up to super-long scale. Being someone who likes string-thru this drove me crazy.
