I just bought this bass! I can't blieve this beauty is going to be mine. I love the look of spalted maple. This is my first exotic top bass, AND it's a spector to boot. I can't wait until it arrives. It should be here in about a week. I'm a little nervous about the 35" scale (I've had a few 35" scale basses before and found them uncomfortable to play). Based on the playability of my Euro 4-string, this thing should play like butter. I'll post some of my own pics when it gets here.

I was watching that one too and was going to bid but I swear that's a cigarette burn on the finish by where your arm sits. The seller said "he didn't know what it was...probably just part of the wood". So, be sure to check that out.

I dont have one yet, but i just ordered this beauty and it will arrive in a coupla weeks, the waiting sux.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have a close look at it when it arrives. But in all honesty, at the price I paid, I didn't expect it to be in mint condition. A little TLC will get it back to good as new.

Come to think of it, I don't know if this bass has an oil or poly finish. Oil would be nice and small marks can be repaired quite easily. Does anyone know what finish it has? It's hard to tell from the pics.

I'm not sure - I want to say oil but most spalted maple tops have to be hard-finished. So we'll see. I hope it's not a burn mark cause that's a really sweet bass! I got one just like it coming soon...pictures of it are just one page back.

Guess I shoulda looked before i posted, I got totally overshadowed by the spalted maple beauty, it is nice tho, but thats totally a cig burn. And yes, im a huge coheed fan, which is what first drew me to wanting a spector cuz their bassist used them before he switched to fenders(traitor(jk)), then I got a chance to play one and it was a done deal.

Rex Brown first got my interests piqued in Spectors.

Unfortunately, DHL does NOT deliver on the 4th of July LOL. Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow or worse...Monday :(

Rex has one of the best live tones ever. I got the chance to noodle around on his rig back in the day before he started using Spectors, but once he started playing them live, it was insane.

Eddie Jackson on Mindcrime got me into Spectors and I haven't looked back since.
