I'll be posting my newly acquired Rebop 4 up here tomorrow. I plan on tone dumping it for an EMG BQC System setup, changing the pups, and converting it to 18v operation . I want to get gold hardware to replace the black but i can't find any.

Isn't it technically already an 18v system because of the internal voltage doubler?

Well yeah it is.. so why bother dumpin' the pump?

I have a new appreciation for the Tone Pump Jr in my Legend Classic 5. I initially replaced the stock electronics with active EMG 40P & J and a BQC system, but the high end was too uncontrollable. For the hell of it, I put the Tone Pump Jr back in and it seems to match up well with the active EMGs.

IIRC,
The tone pump circuit does double to 18v, however IIRC, the pups are still 9v though, never got the chance to run a 9v down before I dumped.

I prefer having a blend with mid controls as opposed two volume setup and i've heard a lot of good things from and about the BQC system. The more sounds i can dial in, the better imo.

Hello friends!

I've just had enough of my old Warwick(the neck is diving me nuts!) and I'm thinking about getting me a Spector Euro 4 LX. But, the obvious question, how's the neck? Diving alot? Since my local dealer only holds about 4 fenders(yes, its a small swedish ****-of-a-town) I dont have the luxury to nibble on one.

My NH J5 EX actually DOES neck dive a bit, but that's because it's so friggin light! It doesn't dive like a warwank, or anything like that, so a nice leather strap with a suede underside completely solves the problem.

No...not if he gets rid of the Tonepump for the EMG pre.


And for the other question...no neck dive here as well on both 4 and 5 strings.

Count me in on the Spector club, 2 points to anyone who can actually figure out exactly what model mine is, I've looked around the spector website and the internet in general numerous times and can't figure it out

At a guess, it could well be an NS 2000/5. If you email customer service, you should know for sure. That's how I found out about my Korean-made Spector. They are freindly and fast--a well-earned positive reputation.
