Funny, I've recently found myself interested how the PJ configuration sounds compared the double humbucker... Now if only I had a bottomless bag of money....

I've got a Euro NS2CR and an NS5CR. Both are pretty much the same except for the extra string on the 5-string and the pickups. Both have a 34" scale and EMG preamps. The 4-string has PJ EMG's while the 5-string has soap bars. I find that the PJ is much more aggressive sounding than the 5-string. The soap bars have more low-mid punch that is almost a little compressed sounding. I think the PJ has a similar bump in the mids, but it sits a little higher up in the mid-mids to high-mids.

Cool, if the same applies to the LX (as I imagine it probably would), I've made the right choice for me.

That's right... If I had an endless bag of money I'd STILL buy Spectors over ANYTHING else.... :bassist:

Yep, PJ's are only on the Euro, not the ReBop...

Ok, i made a similar comment about another pic too, but WHY CAN'T PEOPLE LEARN TO STRING A BASS??? I'm sure that you don't need an instructor for that...
Seeing pics like that shows me that this person knows nothing about taking care of a bass, and thus i'm afraid of the condition of the rest of it. (no matter what the pics show)

I hate to say it ysand - but there are plenty of threads on TB (in the Setup/Repair section) that state otherwise...

As to this bass in question - looks to me that the bass is strung up like a guitar normally is... could very well be a case of a guitarist who buys a Spector, doesn't know any better & re-strings the bass just as he would his beloved '82 Les Paul Custom! :smug: Just because someone can't string a bass doesn't necessarily mean they can't care for it properly. Plus, I've seen much worse examples than this out there. All IMO, of course...

Someone should just buy it & give it the proper care (and stringing) that it's been longing for all of these years!

Can someone tell me what a reasonable price for a Kramer-Era Spector NS-2 would be? It's a NS-2O, made in the USA. Dots, oil finish, quilted maple body, EMG P/J...actually, it's exactly like this one in the Low End's gallery:

Can't say what's fair and reasonable - varies all the time on these and really whatever someone will pay is a reasonable price I'd guess. I regretfully passed on one for $540 shipped not long ago (didn't care for color) - that was more than reasonable IMHO - just bought a Sterling instead. Should have bought both hehe.

Thanks. 540 for a USA?!? Are they available that low? I'm not talking about the imports (NS-2A,B,C)....this is one of the few US Spectors with dots AFAIK.
