I bought an Olympic White CV 60s P bass a couple of weeks ago and I'm pretty pleased with the purchase. I took the opportunity to try out both the new CV Jazzes and precisions in my local store and as tends to be the way, one stood out, in this case the precision.
The finishing on it is very good, as it was on all the new CV basses I tried. Although I'm usually accustomed to a jazz neck I found the precision very playable and difficult to put down! I'm not going to say anything hyperbolic like its the best bass i've ever played but it feels as good as the Matt Freeman squiers I've owned in the past. It is a step down from my Fender Pro Jazz but frankly it should be for the money. That said, my jazz isn't five times the bass either.
My only slight criticism would be that the Indian laurel fretboard is not as dark as I would like it even after an oiling but it still looks better than pau ferro to my eyes. On the whole though I'd say its a good quality bass at a reasonable price.
