Ibby Talman is another great choice for bugget but very well made, good tone and comfort playing.
I prefer tiny vintage fret and passive pup, this make me stay away from lot of choice, so, my dream bass always is Fender Roadworn P and J.

Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision or Sterling SUB Ray4....decisions

I prefer tiny vintage fret and passive pup, this make me stay away from lot of choice, so, my dream bass always is Fender Roadworn P and J.
Maybe they don't, but there have been enough posts about it that it's a fair disclaimer.
Actually not all flat string give pbass old school vibe . The essential for my CV60 p is broke in labella 760FL, fender vintage bridge, and fender .1uf wax cap. I want little thick low and low mid, so I choice fender 63pup which I can easy get from local GC. And don't forget play the string in between neck pocket and pickup.
The threat saddle vintage bridge is the soul of organic vintage P vibe.

I have that bridge on my current FrankenFender and it's amazing. I love how I can adjust the string spacing unlike the single grooved bridges.
I have this bridge on my FSR Jazz and am a fan, I would put this on any bass for which I was a drop in replacement. Threaded saddles are the way to go. I don't believe that it is a drop in for the CV.
No issues with the CV high mass bridge with the brass saddles though.
I don't think so. It is 5 hole but I believe that I read somewhere that it did not line up exactly.

I made a hard decision.
I won't be getting the Squier Classic Vibe Precision as much as it KILLS me inside.
1. Family is in some financial struggles. I'm sure a lot of y'all know what I'm talking about. They usually don't ask me for money, but this time, they did. And they're my family; of course I'll give it to them. They always pay back as soon as possible.
2. I figured: why not invest more time, money, effort, and practice into the FrankenFender I have right now? I read in an article that John Entwistle cannibalized several Fender Precisions during his early years and created a Frankenstein Fender Precision and used that one almost exclusively. He didn't give a crap about what body it was or what neck it was. Anyways, my biggest concern about my FrankenP is the neck.
- Nate Mendel neck's truss rod has some issues but not broken or anything. It just won't tighten anymore but the neck has a bit too much relief even with string tension and truss rod maxed.
- Neck is 1.615" nut width. To me, it feels like a Jazz neck and I just can't get used to it no matter how hard I try.
- Planning to switch the neck to a MIM Fender P maple neck that Fender sells. It's a pretty good deal, I think. I did it with my old MIM Jazz when the original neck got wonky so I had to replace it.
- I'll definitely need to buy the MIM Standard tuners or just make new holes for the tuners I have for the Mendel neck?
- Put some vintage covers and thumbrest on to make it look "cool".
And there's a dude selling a Squier P on my local CL for $50. Gonna grab that ASAP and make it my beater bass

Bummer you weren't able to pick it up. You can get one later if needed. Not only that their are millions of great basses available at great prices. That one was not meant to be. Family first! Take care.
In that case, you can strike the Sterling SUB from your list. 1.5" nut. Too bad about the new bass, but there's nothing wrong (and quite a lot right) with a 'love the one you're with' approach.
It's tough to go wrong when you can revisit these basses. They are both awesome for the price. I would lean Pbass as well since it is passive. I bought the SUB because I crunched the numbers and knew I could upgrade the pre and pickups and have a bass that recorded real well when I wanted that old school 2 band ray tone. The playability of the Sub was very surprising. It's not as good as my other basses that are over $2k, but it is a lot better than I ever expected for the price I paid.

Hmmmm yeah I just read on that before considering buying that SUB. 1.5 is too thin for me.
I think it's better investment for me to upgrade and make my current Precision comfortable to me instead of buying a whole new bass.
