Can anyone comment on the neck on the Classic Vibe J's? Thinking of putting it in a jazz bass project of mine... Any opinions?
Every one I've seen are pretty darn good.

Great Cliff, I suppose you have a shite standard bent plate bridge on that POS too!
This thing about the CV cover touching the "HM" bridge and increasing hum. Couldn't you put some electrical tape inside the cover where it touches and fix that: no contact, no conductivity. Unless it is caused by induction??? Hmm...![]()

) and the tiny, vintage frets feel amazing!Oh, it's ON!!No pics, no bass.![]()

On my 50's CV it's installed without it touching the bridgee. The price for that: the bridge and the coloured string ends stick out, but I don't care to much about that: when playing, I hold the instrument in ca. 45 degrees, meaning that that end points to the floor, more or less.

Is this the newer, pine body model?Oh, it's ON!!

"Miss Christine Squier, please"

Here she is between her two siblings: Palmer (Left) and Sarah (Right)

And the ugly, nasty cousins

Her neck pocket is really nice too!

My only complaint? I got no striped neck

Can I get a numbah (after three years of coveting), please?![]()
That's gorgeous, Dave. I almost picked up a Fiesta Red P last night. And I'm not a fan of red in any form on a bass...but I like these. The black really changes the look for the better, IMO.
Indeed! I thought it was only 2 pieces, but after I inspected it a lot turns out it is actually 3 pieces. It's rather hard to figure out looking a her by the front. They really did a great match on her bodyNo stripes on the neck, but a beautiful grain on the body. My body isn't as nice, but I've got a real tiger of a neck. Another one I tried was like yours. Looks like they match them up like that?
Anyway, congrats, Christine is hawt!
AFAIK all the butterscotch girls are pine and the bluebirds are basswood.
That's correct! I've been thinking about adding a laminated top to make her less prone to dents, but that's a long way from happening if ever.Is this the newer, pine body model?![]()

I think they're both in the same category of softWhich is softer and more prone to dents: pine or basswood?
