Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 3)

I purchased my first Squire during Fender's Labor Day Sale. Upon receipt, had to make a few minor adjustments, truss rod, lower action, raise pickups, clean control cavity (contained a fair amount of sawdust)... and add a strap. Overall, very happy with the purchase. Really like the color, even if it looks a little like Dodger blue.

Gonna solder up some passive Bartolinis in my CV J tomorrow- thinking of going full Dad Bod Tort while I'm at it. Decisions decisions

I'm gonna go with the tort guard as an ode to my long ago sold 83 MIA P. I tried getting in touch with the TBer I sold it to with the intention of buying it back but he has since passed away. Still wonder where the bass is.. hope it's getting played! I enjoyed it.

The Barts are out for delivery today- gonna install them / swap guards & do a setup with some fresh Rotosounds!!

The natural/tort look always makes me think of John Wetton's P Bass from back in his King Crimson days. So, needless to say, I approve

Tort really looks good, nice soldering station. FedEx is en route with a set of DiMarzio J pups for my Jazz bass. This will be my virgin voyage installing pickups, looking forward to making my first real bass mod. (straps don't count).

Nice! Did you go with Model J's? I had some in my previous 70s Jazz- they sounded great!

Yes, Model J's. I like their sound and pole adjustment options. Seemed like a good place to get my feet wet installing pickups. Woohoo, pickups were just delivered!

Yeah those Hipshots were a nice upgrade. One of the tuning keys on that one had a stripped gear, so went all out on the fix. The keys on my new one are solid, so they're staying.
