The funny thing about that is that some of us spend ungodly amounts on our gear, including pedals… and my favorite pedal is a great tuner. So good tuning machines are an extension of all of that for me. I probably wouldn't have done it, but the stock tuners were not working, these were a direct fit, and they had them in the shop on hand. I don't feel any difference in the overall weight, but who knows.

He report me that Allpart set work well. But i dont know does the set are direct plug in (screw holes placement) or not because he bring the bass to luthier for install and fret work.

Here is my request yesterday to Hipshot about the Ultralights...

Hi, I have a set of 4 inline 1/2" Ultralight Y-key tuners that I bought to lighten my Yamaha Attitude Bass at the headstock. When I installed them, I figured out that the Licensed version fits a 5/8" hole in the headstock and is loose/sloppy in the 11/16" holes in my headstock.
Somebody on Talkbass just mentioned that you would send ferrules that fit correctly if I sent you a request. I would be very happy if that is the case.

We don't have adapter bushing for 11/16" because the material would be too thin to be structurally sound. We can only make them for 23/32" holes (18mm).
What you can do is wrap HVAC aluminum tape or grounding copper tape around the hex nuts to make up the difference.

I'm gonna put my Robot Graves neck on my 70s CV J sometime soon, maybe tomorrow. Will keep y'all posted :bassist:

Got my "late 60's" jazz in yesterday……finally. I am extremely surprised how good things were out of the box. Tuned in up and had shockingly good string height. Low with no fret buzz across the entire fretboard. The laurel was darker than I though, which was nice. I haven't gotten to plug it in and give it a setup, but from straight out of the box I'm highly impressed. No scratches, bubbles in paint, dings, looks great. Neck pocket is tight. It has some light sharp fret ends, which I'll need to research because I don't want to damage the binding. But overall I'm pressed with the fit and finish. Here's hoping everything is 100% with the electronics.

Just wanted to report back… Fender responded to my email today about the busted tuner. They said that they don't have any replacement tuners in stock that will fit, but they did offer me a set of tuners from the highway one and standard series basses. They did clarify that the tuners would not be a direct replacement and would require some woodwork. As an alternative, they offered me a $50 gift certificate towards "accessories". I replied that I would take the $50 in accessories and asked what I needed to do to claim the voucher… It will probably be a few more days before I hear back.

Congratulations, mine was fairly good "out of the box" as well. I had a single sharp fret (#1) I just used an emery board (nail file) easy peasy, there's nothin to it...

It's been a frustrating day nearly spending 6 hours trying to get the damn bass the way I want it. Right now it's sporting a high action, no matter how many times I've adjusted the truss rod and action..

I purchased my first Squire during Fender's Labor Day Sale. Upon receipt, had to make a few minor adjustments, truss rod, lower action, raise pickups, clean control cavity (contained a fair amount of sawdust)... and add a strap. Overall, very happy with the purchase. Really like the color, even if it looks a little like Dodger blue.
