Can I enjoy the club with my CV p60 bass?
My very first impressions: great playability, nice sound, bad tuners. Should I give them one more chance or it's a common action for this model?
¿What's the problem with the tuners, exactly?
(heavy? ugly? they don't hold tuning? hard to tune with precision? feel cheap when touching?)

Bad tuning mechines not a good reason to selling it.
Just swap with some good quality tuner.
Mine 60P stock tuning machines is FAR better and hold tune over my previous MIM Jazz .
I think the tuners on the CVs are very good. They look good too. You DO know that you should always and only tune UP TO PITCH right? Tuning down to pitch causes problems no matter how much you spend on tuners. It's called gear lash.
When I first got my cv 50 P the tuner for the G string was very uneven and rough. But with continuous use iy smoothed itself out. Only thing i chang on the bass was the cap and pickup. Its very nice! Btw does the recent crop of squier VM or CV come with orang drops now? I opened up my VM to change the cap value and it had an orange drop already.
I have a CV 50's P and a Matt Freeman sig, both purchased new within the last several months, and I've had them both open to take a look at the electronics and mine don't have an orange drop cap. At least I'm 98% sure of this, I'll take a closer look next time. I'm positive the MF sig has a blue cap that I wasn't familiar with.
I made some changes to mine. I installed a custom wound double stack pickup and changed the knobs, added the bridge cover and changed the thumb rest. Thoughts? Too much?
Maybe this thread is where I should go for this question. I bought this used from a guitar shop several years ago, and it was my first bass. I was really impressed by it, and even still am today. It was a great purchase. That said, I never really play it anymore, and was thinking of selling it. Unfortunately, I can't figure out exactly what model it is, so I have no real idea of what it's worth. Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject?
Also, I should mention that I was dissatisfied with the pups, so I replaced them with the Fender Original 1962 reissues, which have been amazing. Way better than the set that came on it.
Believe that is a Vintage Modified. What are the first 2 numbers after the letters in the serial number?
ICS are the first three letters, I think, unless the I is actually a |. It's made in Indonesia, as well.
Thank you! Honestly, it's the nicest Squier P I've used. The wood grain is great, and unless you look really closely, you can't tell that it's made from more than one piece.

I have a question for people with the single coil P bass. Is it normal to experience a high pitch hummming when plugged in? Amp is plugged into a power conditioner and i tried different bass and cables. The funny thing is whenever I move to a certain spot the hum vanishes. Also if i mess with the tone knob the hum deadens a bit. Will shielding with copper tape help this?

60 cycle hum. Yes it happens and it changes depending on where you stand in relation to amps, lighting, etc. I had a custom made double stack made to help alleviate this.
The problems are E and C string tuners, they don't hold.
After a quick setup the bass sounds nicer!
I will check for replacement tuning machines.
First question: .... You posted a photo of a 4 string CV60 P, yet you say "problems are E and C string tuners" .... How are you tuning this bass? Standard tuning is E A D G low to high.
Secondly: you might try simple maintenance, using some lube and adjustment before spending any money on new tuning machines. The internet is full of advice/instructions. I have several Squier basses purchased between '01 - '12 (including a CV60 P) all with stock tuners that work smooth and hold tune as good as the tuners on any other bass I currently own (including MIA P) and better than some big name, much more expensive basses I've owned in the past. YMMV
