I measured mine at the 4th and 11th frets, and the CV came out around 2mm less at both points.

I think I prefer the CV version, and I'm kinda almost considering selling my USA P and buying a couple of Matt Freeman sigs.

I matched the setup of all of my strings (height at 12th fret and pickup height) to the measurements of the A string. I then adjusted the string tree and the windings on the E string so that the break angle of all of the strings match.

With these changes, I get a fuller sound out of the other strings, giving the bass a more balanced sound. It also seemed to pull some more lows into the sound too.

Click the track "Jack", by Ella Quiere Conmigo HERE. That's my P-50's before I swapped the pickup for a Quarter Pounder; it has a heavy distortion on top, but I always mix a clean signal in :smug:

It has waaaaaaaaaaaaaay hotter output, more lows, slightly more low-mids and leaves the hi-mids and treble as the stock pickup. It took me a lot of time to make up my mind and finally swap out the stock pickup. It doesn't NEED the swap, but it is worth it :smug:

Additional note: I'm playing with a pick, so that's why it has such an intense attack :p

I traded into a CV 50's precsion here.Just got it yesterday.Love the 9.5 radius compared to my stings 7.25.I'll get a set of well used chromes on it and see what it has to say.

I own the Matt Freeman sig. I don't own a US P-bass, but I've played a bunch. I honestly can say that I prefer the Freeman to any other bass. The feel, the tones, the look...it all works.
