True I'm just restless. GASing for something new. Can't justify sending much right now though. And since the cab thing didnt work out, might as well get obsessed with replacing my back up head right?

Deth - that svt-200t does 320watts at 4 ohms if I remember correctly.

But it's loud in the old school SS way like old sunn and acoustic heads. Seem to put out more power than they are rated at.

I'd say it'd be louder than the svt3, but that's speculation from previous experiences with similar amps.

Talking about crappy vocal hipster music, there are few that I admittingly really like...Local Natives are that hipster acoustic with a drum circle type pow wow thing but they have some really good and tight harmonies.

And Im a big fan of Alt-j. That guys voice is really weird, a good weird, you can barely understand what hes saying but it just grooves and flows so well with the music. Im seeing them at the end of this month.

funny you mention breaking the double kick then just turning up and playing slow. the osedax was more of a intronaut style band with botch riffs sprinkled in, and i always thought my guitarists style lent our sound to be much slower but we never tried it. i spent two weeks on the road with Mouth of the Architect, and when i got home, i told everybody "ok, we're tuning down, and slowing down" haha. took awhile to get the speed down but were there now.

One of the vocalists my black metal band had, we didn't learn until he didn't show up to rehearsal one day and we called him that he had up and joined the army.

I liked mumford and sons first album, some of the song were raw sounding, made me want to drink beer and slam my foot on a wooden floor repeatedly and shout loudly, this new one? Sucks, its over produced.

I think thats a major problem now a days, over production, the rawness of the music is gone. Thats why I like this genre, you can have a shvtty, crackly, unmixed demo that sounds absolutely JAWESOME.


Also finally on the waitlist for a BB! Only a matter of time now!

Morning everybody. I was determined to be in a good mood today. It's friday after all, and we have an awesome show booked tonight. I checked my email and there's one from guitar player/singer dude. He doesn't want to sing in the band anymore. At all. He says he'll do tonight's show and that's it. We have nothing booked (officially), but he says he won't sing at another gig.

That's fine if he doesn't want to do it and just focus on guitar. But now we have this horrible headache of trying to find a lead singer and until we do, NO GIGS.

Tonight is our third show, we're starting to get a following, venues are noticing us, our recording with dude's vocals is nearly done and now we have to ****ing stop because he won't tough it out and continue to sing until we find a replacement.

He acknowledged that it will probably take a long time, especially since we don't want a sludge-style scream/growler. He says if it takes too long we can continue to write new stuff and be a studio only band. I have no interest in that. I can't devote that much free time to a band that will never leave the basement. So I told him if that happens, I'm going to start looking for other bands, or start something on my own.

We'll hash it out tonight before the show, but jesus christ I'm pissed off.

Take over the lead vocals yourself. Yeah, it would take a lot of work on your part, that's true. But so would finding another singer. Plus it doesn't involve adding anyone to the band who may alter sort of the chemistry of working together as a group.

After that lead vocalist who joined the army, my black metal band had one more lead vocalist, who didn't work out, and then we just said "**** it" and started doing all the singing and vocals ourselves, and have never looked back.

Doing some demo recording this weekend. Driving down to Detroit for a weekend of partying, playing, and demoing. We're kind of scrounging together a recording setup, but I think it should turn out pretty cool. Should have something to share with you guys (and finally get some sound publicly shared on our soundcloud/facebook/twitter etc) early next week.

We'll try not to play any acoustic indie music this weekend. I think we'll stick to witches, dragons, and barbarians riding across the tundra.
