I have no issues with the neck on mine. I like the finish and feel of the whole thing. As far as the thickness of the finish, I just feel that if it is thin, it's just another opportunity for mojo to appear.

Maybe send Lollar pickups the link and tell them why they wont be getting your business. Competition in the marketplace is a b*tch!
The finish is a very satin type , although think i think it would still take a few years of hard play to wear in areas. At that point i think it would feel even better with a slight worn in feel to it , if you dont like it tho , it would be very simple to sand and use a light finish , probably just rub something in.

Mike, really? Lollar is in Washington state. Bpr is in Ohio, which borders Kentucky. I don't have any stock in Lollar, but I've seen threads about bpr taking forever on orders, iirc. But seriously, check out a map. I'm not Canadian, but I know the difference between Vancouver and Toronto.

Got to try one of these puppies yesterday!!! I fell in love, really !!!! I had the burgundy one in my hands! The neck felt perfect, the tone was even, deep with tons of details and when I checked the price tag I could not believe it too !!! Only 169.99$ up here in Canada !!! I simply want one !! These are just too cool !!!
I woke up this morning, and really, I believe I will drop by the store and buy it so much I loved the tone !!!

thinking about converting one to a straight jazz setup (2 jazz pickups)....anybody know a good place to get a new pickguard? it would have to been some place that does custom work.
^ I will do the same and drop in a pair of Model Js one of these days. There are a number of places online that make custom pickguards, including jeannie pickguards.
One thing I found I dont like about the stock bass is that the nut is cut too high and does not allow super low action. Thats one of the first things I am going to do to this bass.

Funny you should mention that. I bought some 104 La Bella DT's for mine and the E and A string were to fat to fit all the way down in the slot on the nut. While I was notching it a bit wider today I noticed the notch could go lower too, so I did that. The action is amazing now. Also, you're gonna drop in, 'two' Model J's. Are you replacing the Neck Pup with a J? I like the P pup on mine. The J sounds thin and hollow.
