Squier "Perfect Fit Replacement Parts" Mega thread

I thought I'd add this since the operation was a success. I found that Hipshot HB1 tuners are a direct fit on my Squier Classic Vibe 50s Precision. Here's the operation.....
Before starting, with the original tuners:
After removing the E-string tuner. You can see the bushing. I left the original tuner bushings in place, and reused the original screws. I put blue masking tape around each tuner as I removed and installed them, as I am a bit of a klutz with a screwdriver, and didn't want to risk scratching the finish on the neck with an errant jump-off.
After the E-string tuner was installed:
And.....rear view after all the tuners were installed:
Front view after all the tuners were installed:
Easy installation, and it took only around 30 minutes, all told. And the HB1s are WAY better than the original tuners, smoother and nicer.

I was curious to see if anyone has found a direct drop in bridge replacement for a MIM Fender Jazz V. It's a late 90's model, if it makes a difference. I'm looking for something in a high mass to tighten up the B a little. Thanks!

I have the Squier CV 50's P, whick is awesome IMHO. I was wondering if anyone knows of a preamp that would fit in its tiny control cavity? I know the aggie OBP-2 preamp can be wired in a 2 knob configuration (volume-stacked bass/treble), but will the preamp module and battery fit under the control plate?

I'm going to somehow get the Black Blocks white and then I'll call it a day. this a little over 800 bucks in mods but it sound and plays like a dream. good luck to everyone else.

Does anyone know which pickguards fit for a 60's CV? And I'm also looking to upgrade the pups, open to suggestions, preferably ones that drop right in.
Would anyone happen to know if a CV 60's P neck would work with a VM 70's Jazz body?

I'd like to replace the bridge on my CV Jazz with a Fender vintage style/threaded saddle type. Has anyone tried this? Wondering if it fits, etc.

I put a standard Fender tort pickguard on my CV Jazz and it was a perfect fit. One thing to look out for though is that some pickguards have a truss notch and some don't.
I just put a padouk/ebony Warmoth neck on my affinity P bass.
Tuner bushings were too large to press fit and I had to dremel sand the neck tuner holes.
I also had to raise the action a LOT with the saddles pretty much maxed out to get the strings off the fretboard.
No need to adjust truss rod and intonation was real close with minor adjustment required. Plays real sweet now.
Not that it matters to me but you can really feel how much more the neck weighs than the original which is very very light.

Adjusting the truss rod will make it so you don't have to have your saddles maxed out.
I did this on my VM jazz. I didn't replace the bridge, just the saddles. I bought them from guitarpartsresource and they were only like 15$. The saddles are smaller, which allowed me to adjust my action lower and still have some adjustment room if i need/want to put it even lower. I am much happier with the bridge now.

BTW, a standard Tusq nut cut for a Fender Jazz bass will work with some modifications. First, the string spacing is wider than the stock nut. Second, the bottom of the nut slot is flat, not curved like Fenders.
Actually action is good without adjusting the truss rod. The new warmoth neck is thicker than original squire requiring me to raise the string height to match thicker neck.
Finally decided to make my CV 60's to my own specs and the results are;
1. added Fender '62 pickups - drop in
2. added Dimarzio 250k pots - tight fit
3. Black pickguard and screws - drop in but tight at neck
4. Chrome bridge and pickup guards
5. DR Black Beauty strings
6. changed cap to .1 microfarad and changed wiring to 1962 P Bass wiring diagram
7. changed neck to Mighty Mite Jazz neck - drop in
Just love the new actual 60's sound and the new look

Capacitor is an .068 microFarad (683J) in the original, per the Squier wiring diagram on their website.
