..looks like someone STILL hasn't seen that there is a sunburst geddy jazz yet, one that looks exactly like that squier ^^ minus all the features you mentioned. so it looks like everyone's at least a little wrong

Okay, so I'm a ditz. I didn't realize the pic he posted had a black pickguard; I got confused with the next picture which DID have a RT pickguard.

Wait--are you talking about the new amber-finished P-bass with maple board or some VM 77 Jazz version?
Not hard at all...Did it myself...about 2 weeks worth of time put into stripping then applying the nitro to neck and body...after that,a months wait before wetsanding...then lots of wetsanding,then polishing...Pickguardian made the new pickguard...thanks for the comments !
Vin Mod TB bass ,re finned in reranch nitro both neck and body...Wilkinson vintage tuners,switchcraft pots and jack,new pickguard,period correct Fender decal...

He's talking about the VM '77 Jazz - Black with black PG, maple board with MOP block inlays. Came out the same time as the amber VM P and Jaguar.
Reviews of theVM '77 Jazz here on TB have been mixed. To be fair, it's only been a very few reports overall, hardly a scientific sampling.
Not supposed to be out yet. If Sweetwter has them now, I doubt very many have had a chance to get one yet.
Well, to be fair...I know of only 2 reports that said things were wonky on the new 77 Jazz. My report and JohnK's. And in all honesty, the ONLY thing that was off on the bass I played was the QC on the rounding over of the neck binding.
The bass sounded great! Then today I find this on my Facebook from Squier - (and youtube)
Sounds pretty darn good to me! I will find one where the binding is rounded off properly. Then I will buy it!

It just came out this month. AFAIK, nobody has one yet. I don't doubt it will be as good.
I'll have mine Tuesday. Ordered the last one Amazon had in stock.

I really don't like block inlays. I like the small dots on this one.
Well, checking the Squier website, a lefty version is being released at the same time.
I sent it back to Amazon. I love my VM Precision, but I am really not a Jazz Bass kinda guy.
