Star Trek Beyond

All that, and into Darkness essentially negated any need for star fleet to exist. Transporters (portable ones at that) to take you from earth to Kronos (which is in another quadrant of the Galaxy). And once you're there you can use your handheld communicator to talk to Scotty in a bar on earth. Oh yeah, Khan's super blood cures death. So there's that.

Even with all that, I enjoyed the heck out of it.

Didja notice Simon Pegg got top writing credits on Beyond?

I enjoyed it to. It was a great action movie. It was an abomination to the heart and soul of what Star Trek is, but there was lots of punching and explosions and loud noises and pretty colors. I'll see Beyond in the theaters and it'll be a rocking and rolling good time, complete with plenty of Beastie Boys songs and certainly lots of punching. But it'll be a mockery of Gene Roddenbury's beautiful vision of the future.

I've never heard of that. I just looked in iTunes, scrolled down to the first episode, and it's called "About a Gorn." I think I may have to give a listen.

It's great. The first bunch of episodes are a bit harder to listen to as it's a big cast and it takes a while to know the sound of each character, but they're totally worth it. The captain is also the guy who plays Usidore from Hello From the Magic Tavern.

EXACTLY! You hit the nail on the head man!

I think I've decided I'm not gonna see it. I don't need the kind of anger and disappointment in my life that this movie will give me. It'll come out on Netflix in maybe a year. Maybe I'll see it then.

Abomination.

Spelling Japanese names isn't my strong suit but I know the crap out of Star Trek. Sulu ain't gay....
