For all the doomers who may be curious, The Hobbit was a satisfying use of 3 hours of my life. Highly recommended if you liked the LOTR trilogy. Made me want to read the book again (but then I said "screw that" and loaded up Guild Wars to get my epic questing fix instead)

Those are cool pedalboards, but a little gaudy for my tastes. I figure I could probably make a nice pedalboard pretty easy.

After seeing Laz's guitar player with the light up board, I knew it was possible to make one or buy one. I was just cruising ebay when I found that company.

I recommend hitting ebay. There are some decent, more plain looking boards for some pretty good prices. Saw a tweed Blackbird board yesterday for $100 BIN price. I was ---this close to getting it til I saw the Monkey Board.

Well, I wouldn't be too excited about it. On the one hand, it is something to hit and have fun. But on the other hand, more entry level drums with the wrap coming off. I am a big fan of, at the very least, very functional hardware. That hardware looks a bit rough. Cymbols are entry level.
I would pass.

If I had to start to build a new kit, I would look for either am older Tama or Ludwig (classic series) drums. Then I would build out from there. If you buy decent gear and end up not digging it, you can turn around and sell it for not much of a loss. On the other hand anything is better than nothing.

Haven't had a chance to run my Acoustic through it yet. But I've played it with the Carvin amp + fuzz and they sound good. A nice "squishy" bass tone, might be coming from the ported Sunn cab more than the speakers. Sounds less hi-fi than the Crate next to it, but also lacks the direct punch in the kidney that the Crate delivers.

I gave JoeVictim the link, he might have ordered some of those speakers too.

The speakers are going to take a backseat for that light up board. But I'll be getting them as soon as possible!!!

Next on list, OCD clone, octave Fuzz, 2 of those $27 speakers, clone my Yamaha, custome pre.

It will probably be awhile before I scratch everything off the list, but this is my current GAS.

Yes. Yes it is. When/if I blow my 15's I'd really like to replace them with BagEnds. Great products and cool company. They're smaller than people would think. The owner of the company makes deliveries personally, most of the time in his minivan.

Best sounding phaser I've ever heard, distortion was ok, a little thin for bass and low gain, but sounded good w/tubes. It and bunch of other awesome vintage **** was stolen by a former bandmate. It was almost 10 years ago and I'm still pissed.

My drummer response was along the lines of… I wouldn't buy any of that beat up old crap. Maybe for 150 just to scavenge parts.

He thinks it looks like a beat up old starter kit and cheap hardware. Entry level cymbals.

Eh, might just bite the bullet and pick up a set of these. Really getting tired of tuning after every song.

btw ampeg you said that they've only ever had one style for tuners, so these should be drop in replacements right?

Those look like fender tuners to me maybe just figure out the size and look at fender tuners? There are about a million to choose from.

The Ross Dist im thinking of is very close to the DOD250 or Dist+ circuit.

Yeah, ok. Apparently the dist. circuit in that pedal is pretty close to the dist+. Cool ****.

FYI those are just light strands that can change color. Think he bought them from IKEA

You need to name this pedal the "Yob in a box" and have a graphic of mike scheidts head on a spring coming out a box.

that would be cool, you need to build them in the same box and have a footswitch toggle for Dynacomp + Ross and Optical + Riot Clone. That way you have both combo's right there and footswitchable during a set.

Comps on top, dist on bottom
