Question for Ampegfuzz, do you use dirt pedals when you gig with your Shuttle? If so, how do they fair? I know you've got a Rat Tail, I've got one on the way and I'm looking at micro heads again. Not for my doom metal gig, but just as a versatile backup/jam head. Reading a lot of head to head comparisons of the Shuttle, Streamliner, 7PRO, MB/Fusion heads and a bunch of others. I'd rather get something clean, loud and really tonally flexible that plays well with dirt pedals, seems a lot of people are obsessed with how well anything with a tube in the preamp saturates when pushed hard. So I'm leaning towards a used Shuttle 9.0 at the moment.

Hey Mike how did you get your Delgada? I can`t figure out how to order one via their website? I`m I missing something?

The MB Stuff is ok but at the bottom of the list. Haven't tried any fusion stuff yet. The 7pro is what it is. And shuttle vs. streamliner, streamliner wins for natural saturation. The shuttle dirts up a hair when pushed but not as well as the streamliner. If I had the choice again I would have got the streamliner instead of the shuttle. But I won't sell the shuttle for a streamliner. It's smaller, lighter, just as loud, and I could get a pedal to do what the streamliner does if I really want to. The bluebeard works great with the genz. My woolly mammoth is ok and, after repeated tongue lashings from my guitar player, I just pulled my DOD 250. I like the way it sounded but, it stepped on his freq's, I got lost so I ended up pulling it. Never really played with my RT and genz since I've been using the 250 so long. The RT stays on the stoner board anyway. If you wait a couple weeks till my next gig, since the DOD is off, I'll put the RT on and report back.

I got mine 3rd hand from a friend. It has been on tour with a bigger band or two, then my friend got it and decided to sell everything. It's beat up, so I'll prob look to get a new one soon.

You have to email [email protected] to start an order. I filled out a request form they sent me but no response as far as a quote yet.

Thanks for the input man, much appreciated. If any GC within 100 miles had any of these in stock I would just go try them out. Zilch in that department though, out of 7 or 8 models nothing within driving distance has any of them in stock. So right now it's all about deciding if I want to experiment by purchasing something new with a return policy and warranty or pay less for something used. The Shuttle 6.2/9.0/9.2, STM-900, 7PRO, MB500/800/Fusion, TH500, M6/M9 Carbine have all been in the running. Some are smaller or lighter than others, but they're all smaller than any of my tube heads and seemingly pretty flexible and loud.

Laz, the 7PRO has been high on the list, but I've been a little gun shy about it. Between a lot of the complaints of reliability problems and the fact that I'm not completely sure an SVT sound is the something I want to cop. Given that this buy is precipitated by me buying an SVT-CL and immediately not being into it. I was already on this micro head comparison before that, but diverted to the SVT-CL since I had the money and never owned one. I think being able to cop something close to an SVT tone, but not being locked into it would be more what I need. I do session and gun for hire work when I record bands and occasionally for gigs, so I'm trying to keep it flexible. A little grit and growl and I can fill the rest in with pedals as needed. I'm not as caught up in the ultimate size/weight thing, I would go with an M9 if it fit the bill perfectly. Some people seem to go crazy over the fact the 7PRO isn't the size of a tissue box and half the weight.
