beebassdude said:thats odd to me cause i had one and my SVT crushed it in terms of volume. mine was maxed out volume wise around 11 and after that it just got fuzzier.
if you blast the input on the bluebeard that can help but the V4 itself is only 100 watts vs the 300 for the SVT and while wattage is sometimes deceiving, running both at the same time like i did you can tell theres a massive headroom difference.
the V4 sounds awesome, theyre the flakiest amp ever. i blew mine up 6 times and while i had a lemon for sure, ive talked to numerous people who had issues with theirs. the late 70s ones are supposedly much more reliable, i had a 71 and id never buy another one again.
I have obtained permission from she-who-must-be-obeyed to buy a certain Sunn 215 up for sale from a certain John in the classifieds, just have to get the cost for NZ shipping. Which will be huge, but I'll be selling my Orange cabinet for it.
wow, I just went to the Band Management forum. I think that stereotype mentioned earlier in the thread real nails it.
In other news, nobody knows anyone in the US who will machine me an aluminium treble pu cover for my 4001?
