I can not stress this enough...Always play with people who are better than you. Every evolutionary leap in my playing was because of the people I played with.

On another note, a classic rock station here has a weekly local music show (like most cities have), and they're doing an all local-metal tonight. The Boston Phoenix (local rag newspaper) did an all-metal issue this week and we were fortunate enough to play the release party for it Thursday night.
They have a couple local musicians on to talk about the scene here. I know Boston is mostly known for its hardcore and metalcore (for which I humbly apologize), but man there's a lot of amazing stuff from here. Every time I start to bitch about living in Mass I remember that our music scene is absolutely top notch and I ... complain a little less.
