I have played both of those era I liked the second one better prolly since it was passive and lighter, I tried to find one after one slipped thru my fingers their kinda rare. At least the exact one I was looking for. It went for only a couple hundred to boot. FAIL!

But all 70's and 80's ibanez stuff is pretty killer even low line stuff.

Corvette didn't seem to handle fuzz very well. It always ends up with the E string causing an amp spike. If I was going for a nice clean sound, the wick would be king. It is the best playing bass I have picked up, but not for me.

Those two like Ric'ish. As someone who has played a Jazz almost exclusively since I have been playing bass, how do they compare?

That's a total drag. Mine handles fuzz just fine. What electronics are in yours? Active? Passive?

As much as I do love the Warwick I'm completely infatuate with the Spector NS2A I recently bought. I very much want a 5-string version, but I'm not so into the Legends and the Euros are really expensive. Maybe with my next tax return!

It just has the active MEC electronics.

some fuzz pedals are manufactured to work best with passive level pickup output, there are many that work fine with higher output and active basses. The clip I posted last page is me using an active corvette through a fuzz. My warwick does have an active/passive option but is almost never use it, but it does help with picky fuzzes.

i saw that on your site las night as i relistened to your EP, it is soooo ****ing awesome. I live about 3 blocks away form there on Broad street, i already made plans to go to the show :bassist:

Just using the preamp pre gain on my Peavey Alpha tube with some drive from the sansamp clone. I would like to get a dedicated fuzz eventually. looking for cheap fuzz solutions which I can get once the wick is gone. just a lil nervous about changing too much on my rig right now. I don't want to change one thing and then everything else sounds incompatible with it.

hey thanks dude, glad you dig it! definitely come say whats up at that show, the other band playing is a cool instrumental band called ocoai from TN, awesome stuff and awesome guys. should be a good show as long as we dont get stuck in too much 95 traffic lol!

What have you tried and not liked? I bet you can find a affordable pedal and keep your rig intact

So need some advice from my sludge brethren as I don't have much of an artist design mind. I made a thread here a couple weeks ago when I picked this bad boy up...

This thing was a freaking mess and barely playable, but after pulling that tape off, giving it a solid wax job, throwing on some chromes, adjusting the neck, giving it a good setup, sticking a keyring through the broken tuner head so I could tune the E string, etc, I ended up with a killer sounding, interesting looking explorer bass for $100. Now i just need to replace the tuners and put a new bridge on (E and A intonation screws are fully tightened and bass still isn't properly intonated).

I am thinking of doing a refin of this bass, as it being in it's original color really does nothing for the value of it. I've never done anything like this. I don't know if I'll have someone else do it or what, but I'm just looking for ideas. Possibly get some badass artwork done on the body. What do you guys think? Possibly a Venture Bros themed bass...
