Stoner/Doom Bassist Thread Part 8 - Insert witty title...

So I got my Fender 300 tube head 2 days ago,put the tubes in yesterday and powered it up.................and nothing.:eyebrow::confused::mad::spit:

I`m getting pops and light static to my speaker but nothing from any bass I plug in. I`ve tried different cables, basses and speaker cords. I tried both channels and made sure to have the Master volume up a bit too.
I emailed the dude I bought it from(another TB`er) and he says he never had a issue. So either I f**ked up putting the tubes back in or it got knocked around during shipping.
Needless to say I`m bummed out. But I do have a independent Fender repair shop 5 miles away from me(found `em on the fender website) that I`m going to call and see if I can take it in and have them look at it.
Any words of wisdom?

That sucks change-jug, maybe one or more of the tubes got damaged in shipping. I've shipped and received dozens of tube amps and only had one tube break, but it definitely happens. Hopefully it's nothing more serious than that.

Oh, lord ;)

That means all power tubes are good....did ya put all the preamp tubes in the right sockets?

Dummy check..(cos I did this...) Is the tuner only button out ?

Plug your bass directly into the power amp pass through on the back..this will tell you if its the power section or preamp. If the lights by the tubes all are staying green you should get signal.

Well thats easy enough if thats it....turn it all off..open the front grill and check the preamp tubes....I believe each one is labeled as it should be...the 2 front ones are 12ax7s...just make sure they are properly.seated.

Yeah I'm asking around. But I doubt I'll ever find anyone as awesome as Brooks from Big Crunch. Last time my SVT-CL went down with a bad power tube, he charged me $45 + like $7 for a slightly used tube he had that was a good match.

He's going on tour with At the Drive-In on their reunion tour as their amp and guitar tech. Pretty awesome.

I highly recommend the new brighton music shop.
