The cool thing on the Pharoah is switchable. You can go from germanium to silicon. or none (which has a really big boost in volume, make sure you start your amp very quietly if using no diodes)

My usable setting is almost the exact opposite of what Sam had it set at with his gear (the gear you have now will play a major role to the end tone of this pedal).

It get's a little muddy, but it is really gutteral. Me gusto.

That El Raton has a diode lift on the hard clipping side (Classic Rat and Turbo Rat) and also on the soft clipping (Germanium and Mosfet), and man those diode lifts do boost the volume, and actually sound great too. I am surprised how good just the basic GGG green Russian clone sounds on bass though, and killer on guitar. Would love to hear a Rams head version too. Might buy one of the GGG rams head kits to fool around with down the line.

Man Musiciansfriend had a few damaged headstock Epiphone Thunderbird Classic IV-Pros in stock for $209. I couldn't tell if that meant the headstock was totally cracked off and needed to be glued or if just a crack, but either way it could be fixed. I told myself when I get back home and settled I will call and find out and grab one, of course they are gone now, they white ones too, argh!!!

Haha! I'm one of the finalists in Heavy Electronics' Ascend Boost Pedal contest!

Vote for me! 'Tony Copeland' - that would rule!

I voted, I think, I clicked on it the bullet point, but hard to tell if it accepted it, might just be my work computer? Man they should of given you an extra pedal for how long they made you wait for the repair anyway.

Swans is a good example...way to go on that one. The Seer is pretty amazing.

Also I really liked the last King Crimson record that came out in the early 2000's that was a really awesome record for a band who had been around (albeit in many incarnations) for 40 years.

I really love that Crimson record as well. Level five is great.
I think Propaghandhi records have just gotten better and better after 24 years of being a band. That was the first band that came to mind when I read that comment.

IMO, the latest version of the boys from the Great White North, STOMPS all of the first three albums. Supporting Caste/Potemkin City Limits, for the win!

Started pre-production on our next album (translation: bough an interface and am currently tracking guitars to a click).

Can anyone tell me what I need to monitor amp plugins while recording without latency?

I know software matters but there has to be a prescribed way to do this type of thing regardless of platform.
