Stoner/Doom Bassists 89: Father's Missing Voodoo

So do I need to run more low end with that cab compared to others to get the same effect?

Not really. It just is more muscular in the mids. Really works for some people. As you turn up it balances out I think. With the Faital 15PR400 it is a smoother driver. I would say the 3015 is more "rock" where as the Faital is less "rock". I dont know what I would call it. The mids are sweeter/musical.... It will do rock for sure, but I dial up some low mids, and mid mids, and crank the gain. Both drivers are in the same ball park, but hey may be on different sides of the field.

I dont think you are missing anything. ;)

Julien how about one of the Peavey Classics like Bryce has?

Which one does he have?

Which one does he have?

He has the Classic 30 which is a 112 there is a Delta Blues too which is a 115, well a whole line of them. See them pop up around $300 used. I see the 100 watt heads show up for $199 from time to time and have been thinking about snatching one up, but the 30 watts models should turn down enough for an apartment practice combo.

I would really like to find a Classic 20. Looks like I could use it as a stand alone unit, and then disengage the combo speaker and use it as a head.

Its probably why that speaker pairs so well with the Orange Terror amps. Mid bump + passive mid tone stack = awesome.

This just jogged my memory: I never heard back from Orange when I asked that follow up question re: the EQ on the AD200. Not really surprised. I was pretty surprised. however, when the fellow who responded to my email said everything dimed was flat. No way that's correct.

This is all very true. But I am Polish. ;)

We are dumb enough to argue with a post, and suborn enough to keep at it until we win the argument.

On the topic of Peavey tube amps, pretty sure my guitarist still has a practically new ValveKing 100 that he's trying to sell. If anyone's interested I can find out if he still has it. He bought it new, used it for 2-3 hours and decided it wasn't for him.

It cant be. 90% sure its a fender tone stack. So dime mids, pull bass and treble down.

Let's go discuss Cosmos in the P/W thread. I guarantee there's at least a few creationists in there.

Might as well burn a cross on their front yards while sacrificing a freshly raped goat.

If you are in, Im down. ;)

Saw that, and thinking hard about it. I shouldnt spend that much on an instrument I dont primarily play... but I have GAS.

I would be curious to hear what he wants out of it. Probably more than I want to spend on this guitard project, but who knows I could be surprised.

I am so glad I found out about that Terror EQ, I was having a devil of a time with setting it proper after being so used to flat at noon amps, plus now I can tweak the settings and get that Orange tone with guitar too. Which makes me say the Faital has plenty of highs too.
